NOTE: This page is only for Hank J. Wimbleton's characterization in the web series, considering the various other counterparts were not voted Inconsistently Heinous. Therefore, only the web version's info and crimes should be listed here.

And on this day, our hero had slain 30 men, and later admitted to having a good time doing it. 32 actually, if you count the zombies.
~ The narration at the end of the first Madness Combat episode.

Hank J. Wimbleton is the main protagonist of the Madness Combat franchise. He is a mercenary who spends most of his screentime killing whoever else is onscreen.

Despite being the protagonist, it is hard to call Hank a hero, due to the number of atrocities he commits. However, towards the end of the series, he helps Sanford take down Tricky and the Auditor.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

In General[]

  • He is overall an extremely arrogant jerk, who is often disrespectful towards his enemies and even allies, such as when he showed little to no care about Deimos's injuries and even mocked him over it in the start of the game.
  • It's obvious he doesn't care for his allies Sandford and Deimos as he only uses them for his goals. What didn't help was that he was perfectly willing to use the latter's corpse as a shield, further showing he held no respect for him.

Madness Combat[]

  • In the first episode, he kills 30 people (32 if you count the zombies) over someone in a park playing a song he didn't like, and later admitted to enjoying it. What makes this worse is that he ended up dancing to the song at the end of the episode, showing that he's a hypocrite.
  • In Redeemer, he attempts to find and kill the Sheriff, presumably for a bounty. He ends up killing his men in brutal fashion, killing 79 people, 8 zombies, and another 2 attempted (Sheriff and Jesus) before being killed by Jesus.
  • In Avenger, he is revived and once again tries to kill the Sheriff. He essentially does a repeat of episode 3, but this time he is successful with killing Jesus and the Sheriff, killing 90 people (including the zombies).
    • he also killed the sun, which caused Nevada to be in perpetual darkness.
  • In Apotheosis, Hank hunts down Tricky. He kills 57 people (including Jesus), 20 zombies, and 1 attempted kill of Tricky. He does this once again in Depradation, killing 30 people, 8 zombies, and another attempt on Jesus. He does get a kill on Tricky here, but he is revived almost immediately and kills Hank (and it's not played for sympathy, but instead karma for ruining Tricky's dance party).
  • His crimes were so bad to the point that the A.A.H.W. (Agency Against Hank Wimbleton) was created to stop him.
  • His kill count only in the original series (Without taking in the account all his kills in the games and presumed off-screen murders due to being a mercenary) is 780, which is almost 50% of the series' total kills.
  • In Depretation, Hank attacks an A.A.H.W. base (Presumably for Doc's orders or just for thrills), killing about 50 people.
  • In Antipathy, Hank once again goes out of his way to kill Tricky, when the latter tries turning his life around by becoming a train conductor. This incident caused 132 deaths from his hands.
  • In Consternation, he chooses a chainsaw over weapons way more convenient to the situation, despite it being the first episode where he is truly in danger. Purely out of sadistic joy of sawing it into Torture's face.
  • In Madness Combat 9.5 Part 2, he murdered a bystander out despite him not attacking first.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is played for laughs frequently, with examples including the first few episodes have intentionally ill-fitting music playing over them, some of his kills being so brutal you have to laugh, and some specific scenarios such as him shooting Tricky in the Club M.. Even as the series progresses, he has a few moments, such as him and Sanford playing rock-paper-scissors over who has to jump into a hole first.
  • He is on and off and overall, an anti-hero, as he does start working with Sanford to get rid of the evil in Nevada after being revived as a Mag Agent.
  • He has some form of mercy, as he spares one of the Sheriff's men after he gives him information on where he is, as well as spares several people in the games who does not possess any real threat to him or just can be useful.
  • He's honorable, as he always completes missions of his employer (Doc), even if it means jeopardizing universe. His sense of honor also shown when he obeys rules of rock-scissor-paper game and jumps into a hole after losing to Sanford.

Trivia[]

  • He is currently the only Madness Combat'x character to be Inconsistently Heinous.
  • Had the series ended in "Redeemer" if fans didn't want the series to go on, he'd be inconsistent for mostly different reasons due to not presenting much genuine redeeming qualities (Outside of sparing a single person) and the fact that Madness series at this point was mostly being played for shock value as well as was more comedic in its early episodes.
