“ | Yo, that's the G-Man to you! | „ |
~ Gus Turner. |
“ | Well, because without my scintillating personality, your life would be dull as dishwater! With no conflict, there'd be no subplot, with no subplot, there's no character development! | „ |
~ Gus tells Tommy why they're friends, one of his most famous quotes. |
Augustus Bachmann Turner, better known as Gus Turner is the tritagonist of Robotboy.
He is a gross and rude boy who despite that, is one of Robotboy and Tommy's best friends.
He was voiced by Rupert Degas, who also voiced Constantine in the same series.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- Despite being a hero, he often overall has a rude or stand-offish demeanour to everyone and often acts destructively and selfishly, causing many different conflicts; his behavior sometimes gets him and/or his friends in trouble. He also gradually gets more dangerous as the show goes on.
- Occasionally, he even kidnaps Robotboy for several reasons, such as giving him to Dr. Kamikazi for candy or to watch TV.
- He sometimes shows perverted behavior towards Lola, attempting to convince her to smooch with him when they are aged up in "Zap! You're Old" and even slapping her rear in "Roughing It".
- In "Sweet Revenge". When Kamikazi makes a commercial to promote his "Kazi-Crunch Bar" candy, specifically made so he could lure Gus to him so he could get Robotboy, he made Robotboy go on a rampage across the city looking for candy, attack people, and leading to him even trying to murder police. He didn't show any remorse for any of it.
- In "Soothsayer", he falsely promises a little boy 4 ice creams, only for him to steal his lollipop and gleefully make him cry. He also ends up getting Robotboy captured by Kamikazi when he challenges him.
- He is the cause for Felonious Hexx turning evil, as his mocking of him during one of his magic shows caused him to turn evil and resent Gus for ruining his career.
- In "The Revenge of Protoboy", he leaves an old man to die when the cruise ship starts sinking.
- In "Clammadon Rising", he accidentally releases the giant radioactive clam Clammadon from his slumber under Tokyo, causing it to go on a rampage and start destroying the city. Despite this, he's only mad because Clammadon ate his trophy and doesn't show care for the city or anyone else's lives. He did end up killing Clammadon from the outside, saving everyone, but it was only for the sake of his trophy.
- In "Remote Out of Control", he kidnaps Robotboy so he can use him to watch television, only (because RB copies what's on the TV attached to him, in this case, an alien movie) to make him go on a rampage and start destroying the city, something Gus later on even states he doesn't care about. He only helped to undo this because Tommy forced him to and doesn't seem to have learn from his mistake in the end.
- Tommy states that the movie ends with the aliens wiping out the nation's capital, which means Robotboy could have destroyed the entirety of the Bay Area, if not San Francisco itself.
- In "RoboGus and G-Machine", he abuses RobotBoy's powers when he is in his body, and he ends up hurting others and even burning off a bully's pants on the butt.
- In "Gus' Mix", he steals a strength-giving formula Moshimo gave to Tommy that was supposed to just be for Robotboy, but if drunk by humans makes them large and strong so he could make money off it by selling it as a drink.
- In "I Hero!", he farts into a police radio and almost makes a police car crash as a result.
- He is just a simple child unlike Dr. Kamikazi, Constantine and Protoboy, and one who doesn't have any advanced skills like Bjorn Bjornson, and while not purposefully evil, he has shown apathy to his crimes.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is constantly played for laughs and his crimes are almost never taken seriously.
- He is On & Off and is an anti-hero.
- Sometimes feels remorse for his actions when taking them deeper into consideration.
- He actually does care for his friends, even if it really doesn't show at times. An example would be in "The Return of Robotgirl", when Protoboy almost manipulates Robotgirl, despite making her cry earlier on, he is shown to be genuinely upset about it, which is played entirely seriously.
- He has standards as for instance, he wouldn't want to help Kamikazi take over the world as he was horrified when he had him brainwashed via the Kaziconda/Walter into giving him Robotboy, and he wouldn't be as psychotic as Tommy's brother Donnie.
