Gregory "Greg" Heffley is the main protagonist of the Diary of a Nice Guy Reddit Fanfiction created by the user u/MisterMystery5086.
He is a more misogynistic and psychopathic version of his original counterpart who causes a school shooting when feeling rejected by all women.

What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- While he is portrayed as a complete joke at the beginning of the story, he gradually becomes more serious later on, with his fall into misogyny all of his worst crimes being played for drama.
- While his fellow incels are mentioned to have killed people too, their murders weren't given any depth while Greg did it out of his devotion and took clear sadism in committing his crimes.
- He intended to beat up Bryce Anderson in a fight to humiliate him and take his spot as the Alpha male of the school.
- He catfishes and manipulates Leslie into going on a date with her so he could film her reaction and upload it to Incels.io.
- He organized a riot with other incels and had them participate in a school shooting, intending to start with Westmore Middle School, Crossland High School, then a university, to kill all the Chads and Stacies who "ruined his happiness".
- He sadistically shoots Holly in the face, even when she pleads that she has a baby cousin, then makes fun of her in his diary.
- He shoots Patty while laughing as he cries, then calls her a bitch in his diary.
- He murders the entire feminist club offscreen.
- He shot Bryce Anderson and two of his cronies.
- He also explicitly said that he killed other people at his school making his kill count higher.
- Becomes Manny/Satan's demonic servant upon going to Hell after being killed by the cops, intending to kill, maim, sow chaos, spread sin, depravity, and misery, and take people to Hell with him just to please his dark master.
- At the end of the story, he ruins all his relationships, calling his mother "a fool", paying no attention to his big brother Rodrick and keeping his best friend Rowley just because he always needs him to do tasks at his place
- Although he seemed to like his father, saying he was "based", it was because he complimented him by feeding his incel delusions by saying he was proud that Greg wanted to reestablish conservative values. If his father had contradicted him on his misogynistic vision of the world, Greg would probably have disowned him like the rest of his entourage.
- Any Freudian Excuse he may have does not hold up for multiple reasons:
- He feels victimized due to other women depriving him of affection due to being a Beta male. Not only are his views selfish and hypocritical but as Rodrick points out in an alternate ending, women just want guys with hobbies and the structure has nothing to do with Alpha and Beta males. In any case, this is way too petty and laughable to be a genuine Freudian Excuse, meaning he did deserve it.
- His entire justification for committing mass murder was that he was rejected and cruelly humiliated by the women of the school's feminist club even though he had joined their feminist causes transforming it into an outcast. However, it is his fault as he admitted he wasn't at all interested in their cause and joined them just to try to seduce them. Even if the humiliation he suffered from them was a little exaggerated, he refuses to admit that he has any responsibility for what happened to him. Even then, at worst, he is only disappointed by what happened, and never results in him becoming insecure.
- While being tortured by Manny for all of eternity in Hell in Ending 1 is a horrific fate, he brought it upon himself to carry out his plans and perform the school shooting.
- In summary, he constantly brings his misery onto himself while blaming it on society and never takes responsibility for his actions.
- Even though Manny Heffley manipulated him into carrying out the massacre in the first place, he has far higher resources due to being Satan whereas Greg is a normal person who only has high intelligence and a gun at his disposal. Even then, he still stands out due to plotting more school shootings on his own despite not being ordered to do it by Manny, allowing Greg to stand out from him.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- While he becomes more serious by the end of the story, his character is still comical as the story as a whole is a satire of incel ideology which points out how ridiculous and pathetic that ideology is, with the dangers of it being just a secondary theme in the story. His school shooting is played partially seriously, but he continues to use incoherent Redpill lingo and refer to his victims as "Chads" and "Stacies" while doing it and is depicted going to hell under Manny as Satan when he dies.
- In two of the alternate endings, he redeems himself when Rodrick calls him out for his actions, and he and Rodrick’s friends defend the school and kill all the incels. In Ending 2, Greg shows remorse for his actions and is only sent to several years in prison before eventually finding love and having a healthy view of women. In Ending 3, Greg is killed by the incels while defending the school with Rodrick and his friends but wakes up in Heaven since he repented for his sins.

- He was initially Near Pure Evil, until he was removed after it was ruled out that he was a parody, along with redeeming himself in two of the three endings.
