~ Golden Freddy revealing his true intentions. |
Golden Freddy is the secondary antagonist of the 2023 supernatural horror film Five Nights at Freddy's, based on the popular video game series of the same name.
He is a mysterious, golden variant of Freddy Fazbear who is haunted by a dead child that was murdered by William Afton and now seeks to have revenge. He is also seemingly the leader of the Missing Children.
He is portrayed by Grant Feely as a child and voiced by Roger Joseph Manning Jr. as an animatronic
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- As the leader of the Missing Children, he has assisted and is partially responsible for them murdering numerous night guards over the course of several years. Additionally, unlike the other four animatronics, it is highly unlikely he's been brainwashed by William Afton, as his eyes never glow red (which is meant to show they're being controlled) and he seems to be aware the Yellow Rabbit is his killer, meaning he has clear moral agency, especially since he knew that his animatronic massacres were bad and did nothing about it.
- He tricked Michael into saying he would give up anything to get information about his brother's killer, with the intentions of later having him offer up his sister Abby so Golden Freddy could have the other robots kill her and have her ghost possess an animatronic.
- When Mike rejected his proposal, he and the spirits of his friends respond by attacking and severely wounding him.
- He broke into the Schmidt household and presumably murdered Aunt Jane, although she truly deserved her fate (even if it wasn't confirmed as of now) considering she was a horrible person to both her Mike and Abby.
- Lured Abby out of the house and back to Freddy's in order to enact his plan, saying the others were "waiting for [her]".
- It's never made clear if he redeems himself like the other animatronics, as he wasn't with the others when they prioritized dragging William away while allowing Mike, Abby and Vanessa to leave the pizzeria as it fell apart.
- While William Afton is worse, Golden Freddy still passes the Heinous Standards due to him doing his acts willingly and, as their leader, being more or less responsible for the Missing Children's night guards murders as much as Afton himself is.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too tragic to be Near Pure Evil, as he was an innocent child at a party who was lured into the back of a pizzeria, slaughtered and forcibly turned into an animatronic by William Afton, being trapped in this state for decades. Alongside the other animatronics, he is portrayed as nothing but an easily sympathetic individual who did not deserve his fate throughout the film.
- Even though being affable was just an act to easily manipulate her, he may actually care for Abby.
- He is somewhat honorable, as it's likely he would've honored his end of the deal with Mike if the latter didn't refuse, attacking him only when he rejects the offer.
Trivia[]
- While he is currently IH, his actions could change from being Inconsistently Heinous if he is confirmed to return in the sequel.
