Godzilla is the main protagonist of Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors and it's sequels Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors - All Hail the King and Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors - Summer Smash by IDW Comics. He is the guardian and protector of the Earth who would keep the Earth from harm but would end up attempting to wipe out humankind when he grew fed up with their harm in the environment but would be talked out by the human main protagonists Cedric Nishimura, Emily Hill, and Anderson Scott where he would help defend from the Xiliens from here on out.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

In General[]

  • Although he do have to compete with Commander Z and King Ghidorah he stands out from them as unlike the Xiliens who wish to merely wish to conquer and enslave humankind, and while King Ghidorah who wiped out the dinosaurs, Godzilla stands out from then with fewer less resources in attempting to wipe out humankind out with less panel time giving him the highest attempted bodycount in the three comic series stories.

Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors[]

  • He would rampage and menace humankind 50 years ago before disappearing rampage in cities likely causing thousands of deaths.
    • Some of those rampages were shown in flashback. so it isn't off panel actions.
  • He would attack the Linival Corporation when they made marine life sick causing him to attack a generator and while he had good reasons for their harm on the environment, he still endangered bystanders mainly reporters who were there in a meeting.
  • He would attempt to attack the Linival Corporation again before they unleashed Biollante fighting the plant kaiju before being temporally driving him away for the time being.
  • He would return to the Linival Corporation fight Biollante again and while he killed her out of self defense he still brutally kills her despite it.
  • He would reach his mortal event horizon after getting fed up with mankind harming the environment by charging up a supercharged atomic breath to wipe out all of mankind by blocking out the sun, which would've made them humankind froze to death if he didn't got talked out by the comic’s three human protagonists Cedric Nishimura, Emily Hill, and Anderson Scott who the Shobijin's help telepathically talk to him to show him the good in humanity making him give humankind one more generation to reverse the damage.
    • It isn't fridge-horror because it was shown in the Shobijin's future vision on where he successful fully does it, plunging the entire Earth into a icy tundra and a wasteland with all of the cities ruined with no humans to be seen which would’ve happened if the human protagonists didn't talk him out of it to give humankind another generation to fix their harm on the environment.
  • In the sequel Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors - All Hail the King after defeating King Ghidorah he would attack his own ally King Ceasor before leaving.
  • Although he went into hibernation in the ocean at the end of Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors - Summer Smash he is still a Karama Houdini and stated by the Shobijin shouldn't nothing change by the next generation to undone mankind's damage on the environment he will wake up to try and wipe out humankind again to cleanse them from the Earth.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • The biggest reason he can’t be PE or NPE is the fact he is a Non-Villain due to him being a Hero by the comic’s narrative as he is just a destructive Anti-Hero and only shown to be villainous for a few minor instances in the first series before being heroic for the sequels, making his villainy too brief to get a Villains Wiki page, this also make him On & Off who done heroism such as stopping Commander Z and the Xiliens from invading the Earth with them using King Ghidorah/Mecha-King Ghidorah for their invasion plans.
  • He attacked King Ceaser due to him mentally linked to Cedric Nishimura who was mad at Karen Higa mentally linked to King Ceasar when they were arguing at the time as the two children’s anger influenced them to fight until they calmed down thus he had moral agency issues at the time.
  • He is morally grey-zoned since he is a well intended extremist who merely wish to keep the Earth’s health as he only tried to wipe out humankind due to them polluting the environment and only resorted to wiping out mankind as a last resort believing he had to do it to make the Earth heal.
  • He is honorable as he was persuaded by the comic's human protagonists Cedric Nishimura, Emily Hill, and Anderson Scott after they convinced him to give humankind one more generation to undo the damage mankind did and he even helped them out out against the Xiliens invasion in the two sequel comics.

Trivia[]

  • He is so far the only version of the character to be from the IDW Comics to be Inconsistently Heinous.
    • He and Shogakukan Mechagodzilla are so far only Non-Villain Godzilla character to be Inconsistently Heinous.
    • He is also the only version of Godzilla to be a Non-Villain due to the narrative of Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors portraying him the hero by it's narrative thus he can't get a Villains page.
  • He and his 1954 incarnation (viva Kiryu) are so far the only versions of Godzilla to be Inconsistently Heinous and Inconsistently Admirable as the other versions either are full on Villains with no acts of genuine heroism, full on heroes with no heinous acts under their belts, fail the heinous standards to other kaiju in their respective continuities or a combination of the above.
