Alex got me this recorder, Peter got me some pocket change I guess to buy what I want, which is... new. And, John got me... this... toy. I don't think he one-hundred percent knows what older people like me are into, 'cuz this seems more like something he would've want to get for himself, but... he's a nice kid and.. it's a nice gift. I want to help these people out, they went through all the effort of bringing me in and it would only makes sense that I help lighten the load around the house. What Makes Him Heinous?[]
In General[]
- Even though he once cared for his brothers and wanted to help them, overtime, he starts to become selfish. Killing Peter in an attempt hide his crimes before trying to kill John later on. Even though he mentioned about feeling remorse for killing Peter in the tapes. In purgatory, he subverts this when he tried to kill Peter a second time.
- While Garvey is very mentally unstable and killed a child due to them bullying John even before the bite, and sees killing the children as "teaching them a lesson" due to their "Misbehaving". He still understands right from wrong as he acknowledges is wrongdoings in the tapes and wanted to dismantled animatronics to fix his mistakes.
- While Garvey once felt remorse for his actions and dismantled the animatronics to free their souls in an attempt to fix his mistakes. When he was in purgatory, he no longer cares about fixing his mistake and is now only motivated to escape the purgatory that he caused.
Background[]
- He killed and mutilated a child before dumping their corpse in the trash can at Cakebear restaurant, causing that place to shut down.
- He killed and mutilated 7 other children.
- Two of which he killed by locking them in the backroom for two weeks, leaving them to starve to death.
- When Fritz discovered the bodies, Garvey slammed Fritz's head into a wall and stuffed him in the old Cakebear suit which caused Fritz to get springlocked.
- He got Jeremy killed in the bite of 87 by tampering with Mangle.
- He killed his brother Peter after he discovered what he did (Although Garvey once regret doing so).
- Upon becoming Springtrap, he would attempt to kill his own brother, Peter for no clear reason other than pure bloodlust.
- His soul would split into 2 In purgatory, His darker and negative aspects manifested Garvey W while his remaining humanity manifested itself as Dawnbreaker. Both of them being hostile and aggressive to John.
Dormitabis Remastered[]
- As Dawnbreaker, He would attempt to kill John so he could steal his plasma, showing that his care for John is subverted and is motivated purely by his own self-preservation. This shows he is no longer remorseful for his actions.
- As Garvey W, he would attack the other animatronics souls, this is the reason why they are not active on night 10.
- Peter had to kill himself just so Garvey won't get the enjoyment of killing him again.
- He goes after John next and taunts him that he should thankful for what he has done.
- He would attempt to convince John to let him possess him just so he could escape the purgatory.
- When John keeps him out for some time, Garvey starts to become furious and wants to kill John out of spite, despite knowing John won't stay dead and would come back.
- He chases down and kills John in the bad ending.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is played for sympathy many times, examples include when he didn't seem to know his birthday due to him growing up in an orphanage, his mental breakdown when John nearly died, and his panic attack due to seeing a child bullying another is portrayed as sympathetic and is meant to portray Garvey as a mentally ill person who needed help.
- He has a tragic backstory of losing his birth parents and growing up in an orphanage, and it is heavily implied he was mistreated at the orphanage due to his panic attack over seeing children bully eachother, requiring Peter to help calm him down.
- He felt true remorse for his actions. This is why he destroyed animatronics, as he believed that this will free souls of his victims. Even in after life, he states that maybe he went way too far with his killing spree
- He truly loved John like his real brother and like stated before, him being nearly killed by Fredbear caused Garvey to had mental breakdown, being one of main reasons why he became serial killer as he wanted to avenge his brother.
