GOLB is the overarching antagonist of the Adventure Time franchise.
He is a malevolent deity that embodies chaos and is capable of transforming people into destructive monsters or erasing them from existence. In many ways, GOLB is responsible for most of the show's events, turning Magic Man into a villain and possibly creating The Lich.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- His main goal was to destroy the entire multiverse itself.
- He was indirectly responsible for almost everything in the entire series. His essence was used in the Mushroom Bomb, which resulted in humanity nearly going extinct. He is also implied to have created, or at least influenced The Lich, making him responsible for many of the Lich's crimes.
- In Puhoy when Finn is exiting a (shattered) pillow dimension he knocks into Golb who's close to the wreckage so it's implied Golb shattered the dimension since it happened so spontaneously .
- He attacked Mars at some point, resulting in the death of Magic Man's wife, Margles. This is the main reason why Magic Man became a villain himself.
- The first thing he did upon being summoned to Earth after Uncle Gumbald's defeat was to transform at least hundreds of soldiers into a monster that would spread destruction for him. Many of the soldiers were shown to still be alive and in constant agony.
- GOLB's monster then killed one of the Gumball Guardians and corrupted the other one into a similar creature.
- His monsters defeated most of the Candy Kingdom army and prepared to destroy the rest of the world for their master. This resulted in the treehouse of Finn the Human and Jake the Dog to be destroyed.
- He swallowed Finn, Betty Grof and the Ice King breaking them down to their original forms and nearly erasing them from existence by crushing them to death inside his body.
- Although this allowed Ice King to revert back into Simon Petrikov, it's likely that this was an unintentional effect of GOLB's actions and not GOLB restoring Simon to his original appearance out of kindness.
- Furthermore, by removing all magic from Simon, the universe of Fionna Campbell and Cake the Cat, that was stored by Prismo inside Simon's mind so his boss wouldn't find out about his unauthorized universe, lost all its magic and became a mundane and normal world, which means that several lives were changed so suddenly, whether they wanted it or not, thanks to GOLB.
- Although this allowed Ice King to revert back into Simon Petrikov, it's likely that this was an unintentional effect of GOLB's actions and not GOLB restoring Simon to his original appearance out of kindness.
- His threat to Ooo ultimately leads Betty to sacrifice herself and fuse herself with GOLB to keep Simon safe, leading GOLB/Betty to leave Ooo for good, separating Betty and Simon forever, as due to GOLB's immortality, Betty will live forever while Simon will eventually die of old age, leading Simon to seek for any ways to bring Betty back and to the events of the show's spin-off.
- When the Extinct World's Lich arrived in GOLB's dimension and questioned his master on why destroying all life brought him no satisfaction, GOLB immediately transformed him into a hendecahedron, either killing him for good or imprisoning him for eternity.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He displays almost no personality, as he merely acts as a destructive force of nature and all that is known about him is that he represents chaos and is a threat to all of reality.
- He also displays some moral agency issues, due to him existing as a being of chaos.
Trivia[]
- It was theorized by fans that the blocks on him were considered as the previous Lichs or even possibly the rest of his Scholars, if this is true then it will make him much more heinous.
