What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He owns a fast food company called Fishy Joe’s, which is known for serving meat from any creature, including cats and intelligent animals.
- Fishy Joe even states that the only reason he doesn’t eat other people is because they taste lousy.
- He was responsible for the mass distribution of Popplers as food, which were actually Omicronian babies that can talk and behave like humans, and while the protagonists were initially unaware of this, they eventually found out and protested against the distribution, only for Fishy Joe to refuse to stop selling them, stating that it doesn’t matter to him if animals are intelligent or not.
- After seeing concrete evidence that Popplers are indeed intelligent, his response was picking up a bag of Popplers and eating them to spite Leela and Free Waterfall Jr. while admitting it counts as murder, smugly saying "who's gonna stop me".
- His actions indirectly led to Lrrr invading Earth, as the latter was angry at humans for eating the babies of his species.
- Other than quickly trying to repair a Poppler out of fear after seeing the adult Omicronians, Fishy Joe felt no remorse for his actions and was even seen smiling when it was announced Leela would be sacrificed for being the one to discover the Popplers.
- It’s later revealed that a total of 198 billion baby Omicronians were eaten thanks to the distribution of Popplers, making Fishy Joe one of the deadliest characters in Futurama.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too comedic for PE or NPE, with him having comedic moments such as him saying the only reason humans aren't eaten are they taste lousy, him casually admitting he's served cats, him trying to quickly repair a Poppler after seeing the adult Omicronians, him telling Blek he doesn't care if his beans have horse manure in it, and him saying his neck is perfectly fine only for Yivo to attach to his neck.
