Felonious Gru is the main protagonist of the Despicable Meme duology. He is like his canon counterpart such as having tons of Minions, caring for the girls, and going on missions, but unlike his canon counterpart, this version seems to be more heinous in nature and does have an actual body count.

He is voiced by Steve Carrell just like his canon counterpart.

What Makes Him Heinous?

Despicable Meme

• He has his dog Snoopy blow up a random person with bombs.
• He steals Jontron from YouTube, and he also steals Sony Vegas.
• He has one of his Minions kill Vector, taking 1 of his 9 lives.
• He goes to 2Fort in order to get revenge on Vector for stealing the Shrink ray.
• Kills the Barker with his Mega Blast gun (Although he deserved it for making space shooter so unfair.)

Despicable Meme 2

• He kills 2 of his minions with his machine gun when setting up for Agnes's Birthday.
• Kills another minion by firing his leg into his Mouth.
• Make a Minion explode by saying "That only works when I do it."
• Freezes Antonio at Sub-Zero Levels. When Warden licks him, he gets his tongue stuck.
• His most heinous action is where he uses Lucy's laser to kill El Macho, which also killed the Minions inside the rockets (making Gru have a very high kill count). While this can be seen as heroic due to Gru stopping El Macho, the way he did it was still brutal.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?

• He originates from a YouTube Poop, meaning he is played for laughs too much to be PE or even NPE due to not being taken seriously in the slightest.
• Even though it is debatable whether or not it excuses his actions, he is still a genuinely tragic character; he had an extremely rough childhood due to being separated from his twin brother Dru, constantly picked on by his peers in school, was isolated there just cause he accidentally touched a girl named Lisa when he tried to propose to her, and was raised by a cruel and perverted mother named Marlena who had no regard for him in the slightest, which traumatized him and made him a villain.
• He is honorable as he only killed the Barker to help Agnes get a toy unicorn.
• He is On & Off to some extent as he defeated another villain named El Macho and stopped him from bombing multiple cities with the help of his brainwashed minions.
• He seems to care for his daughters as he set up a birthday party for his youngest one Agnes and even killed the Barker to get her the unicorn.

Trivia

• He is the only version of Gru that qualifies as Inconsistently Heinous since the original Gru can't count due to failing the Heinous Standards to Scarlet Overkill and Balthazar Bratt and relying on Fridge Horror.
  • However, the official version of Gru from the Despicable Me film series qualifies as Inconsistently Admirable, making this version of him the only one to be Inconsistently Heinous while his canon counterpart qualifies as Inconsistently Admirable.
