At first those Kids Next Door were a minor nuisance. That's why I entrusted you with their destruction. But because of your failures, they constantly interfere with my schemes to have adults... rule the world! That angers me. I will no longer tolerate failure. Destroy the Kids Next Door... or ELSE!
~ Father to his children.
Nigel Uno! I am done playing games with you, boy! Give me back my pipe! THIS-! ...No. No! NOOOOO!!
~ Father's last line, villainous breakdown and ultimate defeat.

Benedict Wigglestein Uno Jr. best known as Father is the main antagonist of the Cartoon Network animated action series Codename: Kids Next Door.

He is the adoptive father of the Delightful Children From Down the Lane and one of the most dangerous villains the Kids Next Door have ever faced. He is also the youngest son of Grandfather, the younger brother of Numbuh Zero and the uncle and arch-nemesis of Numbuh One, the leader of Sector V.

He was voiced by Maurice LaMarche, who also voiced Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs At Midnight in The Tick. As his normal self, he was voiced by Jeff Bennett, who also voiced Ozzy in The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure, the Brain-Eating Meteor in Grim & Evil and Jacques von Hämsterviel in the Lilo & Stitch franchise.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Even as a child, he cowardly refused to assist his brother in helping liberate all the children of the world to stand up against their father.
  • He chose to become a villain to follow in his father's footsteps.
  • He creates a company called Evil Adult Industries, Inc. just to make children suffer.
  • He brainwashed Sector Z and turned them into the Delightful Children From Down The Lane, taking these children away from their families as well. Attempts to undo the brainwashing are only temporary as Sector Z will revert back into the Delightful Children From Down The Lane after a while.
  • He is constantly abusive to his children, threatening them into compliance and demanding they destroy the Kids Next Door.
  • After the Delightful Children fail to defeat Numbuh One, Father attempts to kill him and the rest of Sector V himself.
  • He hires the Teen Ninjas to steal a KND command module for him.
  • He infiltrates a KND arctic base to try and steal the KND command module with information about all KND operatives and destroy the base as well.
  • He successfully steals the KND command module, and when Sector V steals it back, he reveals it was part of his plan to sync the module with his animalization ray, turning every KND operative in the world into animals.
  • When Tommy turns the Delightful Children into animals to try and force him to turn off his animalization ray, Father refuses, saying his children were less annoying as animals and that turning them into sheep is an improvement. When Tommy accuses him of being truly evil, Father openly acknowledges it and attempts to kill him.
  • He hijacks a KND tubing race to try by changing the course and leading all of the child participants into an empty cake tin, intending to use the children as cake batter for his children's next cake.
  • He builds another large cake in space, intending to use it to destroy all ice cream on the world so no other children could eat ice cream.
  • When he accidentally becomes the leader of the Kids Next Door, he attempts to have all the children eat all the broccoli in the world so he'd never have to eat broccoli again and to make children suffer more.
  • He rallies together all the adult villains to attack the KND museum and the Moon Base simultaneously. He steals the Recommissioning Module and reveals his intention to recommission his father after he'd been decommissioned in the past. He uses the DNA of Numbuh One, who'd recklessly come to stop Father, mocking him over this recklessness and for being responsible for successfully recommissioning Grandfather.
  • As noted by Grandfather, he only reawakened him because he'd been unsuccessful in defeating the Kids Next Door by himself and less out of genuine love.
  • Though he initially joins Monty to stand up against Grandfather, he eventually loses his motivation and lets his brother fight their father by himself while he goes back to his house to eat some rocky road ice cream. And even after agreeing to help Numbuh 1 and Monty defeat Grandfather, he outright admits that he admires his father's villainy and is only fighting against him because of him refusing to share control of the world with him and treating him like garbage rather than out of disgust for his actions.
  • He and the Delightful Children take over Sector V's treehouse and intend to eat the Delightful Children's next cake there while filming it all to spite Sector V.
  • He has attempted to kill Numbuh One several times despite being his nephew, and in the finale, he tries to kill him simply for stealing his pipe.
  • Compared to the other villains of the series, Father is arguably the most heinous and the most competent villain, surpassed only by his father. He is viewed by Sector V and the Kids Next Door as their greatest enemy, and is taken much more seriously than the other villains.
    • In addition, though Grandfather did worse, Father stands out for having less resources, having the unique crime of attempted cannibalism, and being the most personal antagonist to the main characters of the show.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He has a somewhat tragic backstory, as during his childhood, he was forced to work as a slave by making tapioca for his father. He was also mentally abused by Grandfather, given that he had traumatic memories of being force-fed broccoli and was never shown any love. A large part of his reasons for becoming a villain were to follow in his father's footsteps and gain his acceptance, which he never received and how Grandfather just saw him as a failure of a villain, while his brother Monty stood up to Grandfather and decommissioned yet the latter says to the audience “he always liked his older brother more even if he did destroy his powers,” and just threatening to write him out from his will, which he likely didn’t do since he was decommissioned before doing so.
  • Despite being taken more seriously than the other villains of the show, he is still played for laughs several times and is far too comedic to be NPE. Examples of this are:
    • He is shown casually shopping for groceries and later fights over who would get the last box of Rainbow Munchies.
    • When on the cake station, he and Numbuh 86 both joke about Numbuh 19th century not knowing anything about the current era, and Father jokingly asks him if he wanted to watch a cartoon on television to see his reaction.
    • When learning that there was a party on the cake station, he is saddened that no one invited him to the party.
    • One of his plans was to make all the children of the world eat broccoli so he wouldn't have to, and he is defeated when Numbuh 362 attempts to force feed him broccoli.
    • During the villains annual award show, he comedically tells Numbuh 5 disguised as a caterer to get her catering vehicle out of his parking spot.
    • He argues with Mr. Boss, Stickybeard, and Gramma Stuffum over who would've won the award for villain of the year.
    • After Grandfather rejects him and orders him to leave, he sulks and drowns himself in ice cream to cope. Then, when he furiously confronts his father over his abuse, he suddenly decides to give up and head inside to eat some rocky road ice cream.
    • When Father is revealed to be Numbuh 1’s uncle and by extension Grandfather is Numbuh 1’s grandfather, he says “What are you? President of the Obvious Club or something?”
  • He has a genuine sense of respect and loyalty for his fellow adult villains, often joining them in several social events and rallying them together to stop the Kids Next Door.
  • He has some sense of honor, working together with Sector V and the other villains during the competition to get a box of Rainbow Munchies when Knightbrace reveals his intention to destroy the box of cereal since it is bad for the teeth. When they retrieve the box of cereal, he is shown eating breakfast alongside Numbuh 1 and the rest of the KND members and villains.
  • He appears to hold some form of attachment for his adoptive children, making a special cake for them five times every year and generally treating them well when they succeed.
  • Despite holding no love for his nephew and being generally abusive to his adoptive children, he genuinely loves his older brother, Monty. Though he did refuse to help him fight against Grandfather, it was out of fear for their father and not out of a lack of love for Monty. Later, in their adulthood when they reunite and Monty offers his brother the chance to redeem himself and offers his hand to help him stand up to their father, he accepts it and goes out to confront Grandfather. Even when he gives up and leaves to let Monty handle Grandfather himself, it is out of apathy for the situation. This love is never subverted throughout the series.

Trivia[]
