I don't think I'll ever get out of this dump of a town!
~ Edgar Munsen about Bullworth.

Edgar Munsen is a major antagonist in the 2006 action-adventure video game Bully.

He is the leader of the Townies clique and the responsible of the final events within the Bullworth Academy, alongside Gary Smith.

He was voiced by Jan Milewicz.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • He is the thrill-seeking leader of the Townies clique, which is formed around Bullworth Town and considered the most violent one amongst all the cliques.
  • As the leader of the Townies, he also oversees and/or encourages the majority of things done by them, even having Gurney beat up Rudy the Bum Santa as an example.
  • He regularly admits willingness to commit murder in physical combat.
  • Due to his parents not affording to send him to Bullworth Academy, he feels personal hatred for the school and the students, the case which forms his main motivation for the bullying actions.
  • As a thug, he maintained being generally violent and cruel as he constantly harassed and bullied Bullworth students alongside his clique.
  • For his personal hatred towards the school, he voluntarily allied with Gary Smith and let himself be manipulated into helping him take over Bullworth Academy, and enabled his gang members to commit various offenses against the four cliques to frame Jimmy Hopkins for them:
    • Ordering Duncan and Leon to release twenty rats into the school library where the Nerds hang out, until Jimmy interfered and killed all of them.
    • Ordering Gurney to set the gymnasium on fire where the Jocks hang out while there were several students inside of it, almost killing several students.
    • Ordering Clint, Otto and Duncan to steal and destroy the Preppies' boxing trophies by burning them, which would almost start a brawl between Preppies and Greasers for the former initially blaming the latter for the offense.
    • Making the orderlies take Johnny Vincent and have him imprisoned into the Happy Volts Mental Asylum, where he would get tortured and abused, by using the Townies to put out some nefarious rumours about his girlfriend Lola Lombardi for him to be taken to crazy, which consequently forced Jimmy to sneak into the asylum and rescue him.
  • Once Jimmy confronted him after finding the true motivator behind the actions, Edgar forced him to chase him across a maze of pipes and rickety staircases within an abandoned chemical plant, and later outright attempted to seriously injure if not murder him with a steel pipe in a dangerous place that is surrounded by acid.
    • In a deleted scene, if Jimmy failed to defeat him, Edgar will kill him by pushing him into acid, causing him to die in a horrific and agonizing way while Edgar gloated about his situation. While this is not canon in the final version, it is most likely that it was still Edgar's attempt when considering his brutish, murderous and thrill-seeking attitude towards Jimmy.
      • Had this been implemented, he would've been the only character in the entire game to actually kill Jimmy.
  • Even after redeeming himself, he took delight in beating people up, as shown while delightfully taunting the three Bullies, Trent, Davis and Ethan, upon knocking them out.
  • While he seems to have a Freudian Excuse (since his parents couldn't afford to send him to Bullworth, which resulted in him becoming an outcast and criminal), this is a petty reason to hold a grudge against the school itself and doesn't justify or excuse his heinous actions toward the students, as none of them had anything to do with his family's financial problems.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is shown to genuinely care about his fellow clique members and considers them his true friends, which is further reinforced when they try to protect him from Jimmy while the latter tries to confront him.
  • He seems to have an honorable side, as some of his in-game dialogue suggests he admires his rivals' superiority and doesn't hold a grudge when he loses during Dodgeball games, and even congratulates his opponents if he is beaten up in a good fight.
  • After getting knocked out by Jimmy, he confesses to his crimes and chooses to redeem himself while deciding that Jimmy is "okay" and declaring that he's welcome in their headquarters any time.
    • He later participates in defeating Gary Smith and saving Bullworth Academy, becoming one of Jimmy's most critical supporters.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only character from Bully to qualify as Inconsistently Heinous.
