~ Dreadbane's most famouse qoute |
Reginald Bane also known as Baron Dreadbane is a major antagonist in the Nickelodeon TV series Mysticons. was a humanoid Sky Lancer who worked alongside the royal families of old until he was corrupted the by evil forces of the Spectral Hand. This turned him into "General Dreadbane", one of the Hand's second-in-command and most devoted minion to Necrafa, Queen of the Undead for many, many years.
He had fought against the original four Mysticons, but failed in preventing his queen and "love" from being ultimately defeated and imprisoned by the brave and noble Mysticon Dragon Mage- Imani Firewing- at Victory Heights.
He is voiced by Mac Heywood.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- A thousand years prior to the events of the series, he helped Necrafa with the war against the original Mysticons.
- After her defeat, he made multiple attempts at freeing her.
- In his debut, he attacks the Royal Tower in an attempt at getting the Dragon Disk. He even turned King Darius and Queen Goodfey (Arkayna and Gawayne’s parents) into stone.
- Has Kymraw come up with a plot to get the Dragon Disk for him. Said plot involves abducting Gawayne and holding him for ransom.
- When he learns from Kymraw that the Codex is in the Magi Mall, he goes there to receive it, even ordering his men to “burn the mall to the ground”. He tries to kill the heroes throughout the episode.
- Attacks Rudick’s Hollow (Emerald’s hometown) just to collect a rare mineral called soloarite just to make a patrol to free Necrafa.
- He throws a titanium rock at one of his minions when General Tibbion gives it to him.
- Threats to kill Emerald’s father if he didn’t tell him where the heart of gold was.
- Even after being told that taking more soloarite will collapse the valley, he didn't care and continued anyway. He later sends his drill vehicle to collapse the valley just to kill the heroes.
- He had Kitty Boom hunt down the Mysticons and steal the Dragon Disk for him, even allowing them to betray their trust. This led to Zarya leaving the group.
- He goes to the Valley of Lost Ships to try to obtain the third Codex piece.
- Knocks Piper unconscious.
- When he learns that a baby Diamondback Cave Crawler ate the Codex, he has his minions torture it and didn’t care when one of his minions were eaten when they tried to get it.
- Before he left, he attacked the baby Diamondback Cave Crawler which resulted in it nearly eating Piper.
- Using the Codex pieces he had to summon meteors on the city, promising to burn Drake City to the ground if the Mysticons didn't bring him the remaining Codex pieces. risking the life of millions of innocents.
- He also has no problems with harming children as he was willing to kill them with the meteors, even Kitty Boom was against this and tried stopping this.
- He eventually goes through with it and mocks Arkayna’s parents' fates.
- Attacks a minion for thinking he was against his cape.
- In “All Hail, Necrafa!”, he attacks/kills at least seven of his minions out of anger for his failures. In the ending of the episode, he uses the Codex pieces Kymraw gives him to free Necrafa (though he was betrayed afterwards).
- Stole the rings arkayna and zarya planned on using to defeat Necrafa just to impress her.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is tragic as he was once a noble skylancer who had worked alongside the royal families to protect the realm until he was corrupted by Necrafa who caused him to become evil.
- Although he is taken seriously most of the time, he has some comedic moments that detract from his villainy, such as when he was begging Doug to stop playing the Twinkly Mare theme song, when he and Tazma were affected by the love dust and started dancing with each other, when he was getting mad at a minion for “being against his cape” when he, in reality, was looking at the Foz that was on him, and when he lost his memory in the desert dimension and became a Gardener.
- He is honorable as he is willing to pay Kymraw and Kitty Boom for helping him with his plots.
- He was genuinely in love with Necrafa as all of his evil deeds were done out of an attempt to free her and when he stole the rings from Arkayna and Zarya, he did so in one last attempt to impress her.
- Additionally, the moment where Necrafa screams at him that she hates him and when he says it is time for him to let go and gives up on the rings so the heroes will use them to defeat her for good is played for sympathy.
- In penultimate episode of the series, he redeems himself by saving the deboned king and queen when the Vexicons tried to drop them to their death, and ends up sacrificing his life in order to free the king and queen from his curse, with his death also being played for sympathy.
