He is voiced and portrayed by Joseph DiAngelo Sanford.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
The SSL Series Show[]
- "SSL Movie: Sonic's Big Mistake!!", getting his commanding empire space-station of robots called the "Empire State 101s", to send four giant, floating UFOs to attack and terrorize the Animal Kingdom by blowing up any attacker on the spot like Sonic and Scoobo themselves. This is something Robotnik did because of getting back at Scoobo bombing Robotnik's fortress with vengeance. (Afterwards, making a video to brag about his success)
- "SSL Movie: Robotnik's Worst Big Mistake!!", crossing the first Moral Event Horizon by successfully feeding Sonic explosive food in a playdough can, with minimal convincing, he achieved killing Sonic in less than a minute. (Even though Robotnik shows enjoyment in this moment and seemed like wanting to chillax, this also resulted in Robotnik being pressured and forced by Mickey to bring him back to life).
- "SSL Movie: Robotnik's Master Plan!", crossing another Moral Event Horizon by overpowering Sonic, interrogating him over his luck and success, and then robotizing Sonic into becoming a robot as a form of punishment for not complying with Robotnik's demands before Sonic begs him to be revived and getting his original body back.
- "SSL Movie: Robotnik's Cruel Plan!", planned on kidnapping Kermit so Robotnik can turn him and Sonic into his slaves. He successfully trapped Kermit with a claw from Robotnik's fortress and wrapped Kermit with a set of chains, a hoop, and locks. He also sent his robotic truck and his robotic drone with a claw to attack Sonic, making it a challenge for Sonic and Kermit to defeat him.
- "SSL Movie: Sonic gets Bad Luck!", convincing Sonic that the magically automatic crate he made would bring good luck and succeed at deceiving Sonic into being put in constant misfortune. This results in Sonic receiving the worst amount of luck and mishaps on that day, which made Sonic beg Robotnik to change his lifestyle back to normal.
- In Season 2's "SSL Movie: Bowser and Robotniks Plan!", he alongside Bowser, were planning on how they'd defeat or kill Sonic and Mario in their own ways. He specifically shares with Bowser that he wants to choke Sonic by hanging him and making Bowser do the busy work of trapping Sonic and Mario with a watch from the legs, and threatening the duo with a nail to their face.
- He also lashed his anger at Bowser violently in the same way he did to Robotnik for their plans not working in a comedic fashion.
The SSJ Series[]
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Sonic gets Blackmailed", takes a picture of Sonic on the laptop when he was browsing Foster Care while he was mad at Junior for being unruly and chaotic. With the picture Robotnik kept, he forced Sonic into his bidding by taking advantage of Sonic's vulnerability until Sonic confesses to Junior in order to escape Robotnik's mistreatment. This is another time Robotnik crossed the Moral Event Horizon and did it without any concern for Sonic.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Mario gets Bad Luck!", inflicts Mario with the spirit of horrible luck from a blue crate with the same crate he used in the past, all by sending Witro to lure Mario to Robotnik's box of bad luck.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: What?! The Sewer?!", assaulting Sonic and throwing him out of his fortress to get him stuck inside of a sewer pipe.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Trapped!", makes a plan to trap Sonic over being distracted by a robot and succeeded at making Sonic suffer from listening to Robotnik enlightening Sonic about "scientific knowledge", which is literally Robotnik reading off and defining every word from the dictionary that is intentionally prolonged for Robotnik's sadistic enjoyment.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Eggman!", shoots Sonic's leg while he was jumping and gets him lethally injured by the leg, all just to see him suffer.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Sonic Junior the Badass", illegally dumps tons of clothes and junk to litter his garbage onto Sonic's land (and even on the outside section of his lair).
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: The Spring!", buys a singular gimmick, which is the iconic Spring from classic Sonic games, in order to make Sonic skyrocket into the sky and injure himself when it got most of Sonic's friends vulnerable to physical pain, Junior being the only one who gracefully lands.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: The Chase!", violently throwing Sonic in the air in the same way Sonic and his friends do to him, uses a remote and gets the pig, Bill Grucks, to spin Robotnik's net so Sonic can be violently launched at a window and brutally fall onto the floor. As Sonic runs back at him, he threatens Sonic with the water missiles he used beforehand, where Sonic running into a wall resulted in Sonic being vulnerable to the missile attack.
- He also throws Mickey in the air to hit the edge of Robotnik's fortress, and brutally kicked Mickey to the point of falling onto the ground.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Napped!", hires a disguised professional thief to capture and kidnap Sonic Junior and even plot on killing Junior before Sonic and Scoobo threw a wrench into his plans.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Eggman's NEW Plan!", hypnotized Mario as a way to kill and assault Sonic, which resulted in Sonic nearly suffocating from being choked by brainwashed Mario (and was deeply upsetted by the fact Sonic wasn't dead).
- "SSJ Plush Short: Sonic's Hard Challenge!", challenges Sonic at being tough by making his robotic truck violently crush Mickey and Sonic, and intended to send a water missile to kill Sonic.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Fartdog's Dad!", making slander and lying to Fartdog's dad upon being mad at Fartdog Byendo for rapid weight gain, and using that predicament for Fartdog so he could get his gullible father into torturing Fartdog in the form of constant exercise, making Sonic confess the truth to reveal Robotnik's intentions and for Dandog, to inflict retribution onto Robotnik violently.
- "SSJ Plush Short: A Strange Mystery!", kidnaps Fartdog's father and holds him hostage so he can kill Fartdog's dad with a remote with a bomb inside of it that blows up when time runs out, making Sonic, Mario & Scoobo go rescue him and outclass Robotnik.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Difference? What Difference?", making himself invincible by wrapping an omnipotent-powered tight belt around his body to make him suck in his gut, all while wearing a watch on his head and using some added items in his sleeves to make himself as powerful as a brick. Which made Robotnik strong enough to compete with the likes of Sonic, Scoobo, and Sonic Junior's brute force (he was even strong enough to overpower the Sword of Life! The powerful MacGuffin of Sonic's land). All of this made the residents of the Animal Kingdom utterly fear him and hide, and he intended to conquer the whole kingdom once he got almost everyone cowering in fear of him, which got Scoobo to face him resourcefully and in a brave way to defeat Robotnik at his own game, and then Scoobo confirms Robotnik's sneaky attempts at getting strong, thus proving that Robotnik is physically weak without superpowers.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Eggman's 'BIG' Secrets!", deceiving Junior by lying to him about Robotnik's secrets and then shoving Junior into his underwear cabinet for Junior bugging and tormenting Robotnik over his secret treasure box. As well as backhand slapping Junior (a kid) in his face.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Powers!", battles Sonic for pouncing into him, and attempted to kill Sonic with a chain-saw when Sonic was vulnerable, his prolonged laughter caused his potentially successful tactic of murdering Sonic to fail, and be humbled by both, Sonic and Scoobo themselves.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Eggman's Finest Day Of Science!", surprisingly enough, he effectively defeated Sonic by using his plan to his full potential (by SSJ-era standards). All by flying around the Animal Kingdom to get Sonic's attention, and upon Sonic charging at him; Robotnik spun around, plummeted to the ground on purpose, and used his robotic claw to get Sonic electrocuted by accident. As Sonic was knocked out and was completely vulnerable, Robotnik holds Sonic hostage by keeping him trapped and Robotnik gave him the option to either suffer through learning or get killed by a chainsaw, due to the choice Sonic decided on, Robotnik basically tortures Sonic with reading all of the words from the dictionary for 4 hours straight (similar to what he did in "SSJ Plush Adventure: Trapped!").
- "SSJ Plush Short: Sonic's Unclear Break!", holding Sonic Junior, Mario, and Mickey hostage to get destroyed by a cannon, a chain-saw, and his robotic truck, all of which Robotnik pauses on the act of killing the trio because of reading the same dictionary he's already been reading for a while now.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Eggman's BIG Plan!", makes a newfound plan to use his scientific powers of malefic by using his mind-controlling laser that he calls the "Egg-Mind Controller Zapper, Mach 9-Million". This was planned out in order to brainwash Sonic's friends, which includes Mario, Junior, Scoobo, and Mickey while they were all asleep, and turn them into his allies who love science and act just like Robotnik himself (much to Bricko's dismay). Before Sonic undoes the brainwashing effect Robotnik made, he orders all four of them to attack Sonic once Sonic entered the fortress.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Maximum Coolness!", crossing another Moral Event Horizon by partaking in a hypothermic scheme of his by freezing several residents of the Animal Kingdom with his freeze ray with malicious intent, victims who were vulnerable to this plan include Mario, Bowser, a random green dinosaur, and he nearly froze Fartdog and Sonic Junior.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Idiots Campout!", he alongside Bowser, kidnapped Mario, Mickey, Fartdog, and Bill Grucks at their most vulnerable, he held them hostage so Robotnik can use a chain-saw to kill all four of them without anyone being there to stop them before Sonic and Scoobo came to save them.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Mario's Mess Up!", antagonizing Mario by pouncing on him and strangling him because of how much Robotnik hates him. He even held him hostage in the backseat of Robotnik's mobile while he attempted to nuke Sonic and his friends with the singular TNT he had on his robotic claw, he also sent Mario flying in the air to make him fall and brutally slam onto the floor by the skull.
- "SSJ Plush Short: Sonic's Solution!", froze the whole Animal Kingdom into limbo and as a way to freeze everyone in the room by using a miniature monitor and a freezing Nerf gun triggered by a scientific satellite of his to activate a laser beam as a method of his. Which worked except for Sonic, Tails, and Scoobo, the only characters who survived the cataclysmic effects.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Sonic The Vigorous Hedgehog!", attempts at making primary residents of the Animal Kingdom fall asleep with a fly-swatter and a flat object that puts people to sleep (he also violently knocked out Fartdog with a sandal), all in order to spread toxic gas around the Animal Kingdom.
- Despite intending to hold Sonic's friends hostage in order to kill them all in their sleep, he also leaves Sonic and Scoobo stranded alone in the Animal Kingdom once it was left empty, getting Pac-Man to join their quest with the heroic duo to defeat Robotnik and his henchmen from committing mass murder.
- "SSJ Plush Adventure: Plan E-Vision", tormenting Mickey throughout, and he used malefic to maroon Sonic and his teammates into an accident-prone world that only Robotnik can keep control of; a badly made television show named "Bad Puns: That's How Eye Roll".
- He first steals the ring of luck to tease Sonic and his friends, telling Witro in advance to hold onto the ring before Sonic and his friends arrived at Robotnik's fortress, and then trapping Sonic and his friends in a large laser beam after getting Sonic and friends to get caught off-guard with the ring he held onto.
- He also trapped Tails and Bill Grucks (two of Sonic's additional friends), to be frozen and hampering them from attempting to stop Robotnik.
- All before he used an ray to push them into the world and maroon them inside of a broken television show, making him a threat by surprise. Robotnik initiates all of the torture on Team Sonic that was intended to be inflicted on Sonic and his friends; that being a vehicle that ran over Mickey, two giant humanistic hands to grab & abuse any victim to the point of making them fly and plummet to the ground, using said hands with guns to shoot any target that Robotnik spots, falling European money that turns into wooden bricks that land on the heads of any victim before it hits the ground, two venomous sentient action figures that growl and bite, swords that pop out of nowhere to slash anyone remaining, a giant Nerf gun that shoots anyone in the world, and possibly a force of energy that pushes anyone over with the press of a button. Which made Sonic and his friends run and hide from him since the traps were placed everywhere, Mickey was the most misfortunate of them all due to him dying four times from Robotnik's torture. This made Sonic and his friends outclass him with a subtle scheme of distracting him and accessing a floating screen to escape this world.
- In that same episode, he even tried shooting Kermit and The Joker for attempting to touch the ice cube Robotnik made to freeze Tails and Bill Grucks, and the very end of the episode, he attempted to warp reality by changing the channel into a different alternate universe set in a 16-bit environment that resembles Studiopolis, which he possibly did to trap Sonic and friends in that realm and living in a world of his own, but Scoobo surprises him and Sonic Junior drops a crate onto him.
Special Mentions[]
- "DR. EGGMAN HACKED MY CHANNEL!!!", a self-explanatory example of trolling Sonic for no reason other than his own enjoyment. In which, there was an video of Robotnik that confirms him doing it for fun while bragging about it to his viewers.
- The episode "UnEGGceptable!", which was posted on another channel separate from SuperSonicJoseph, had Robotnik being hostile and dismissive towards Sonic, Sonic Junior (violently throwing him onto the ground), Fartdog (slapping him so hard he hits the ground), Witro (Robotnik's henchman who got thrown across Robotnik's lair for disappointing results) and even murdered Mickey for annoying Robotnik with a baseball gimmick.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is frequently played up for laughs and hardly has moments of being taken seriously due to the comedic nature of the series, thus making him way too humorous and laughable for be Near Pure Evil or Pure Evil.
- He constantly obsesses over the mere concept of science itself (to the point of being a die-hard fanatic of science), acts way too arrogant and childish to a fault, suffers from a lot of comical defeats and slapstick moments, and he rarely thinks things through despite being a evil genius who intends to defeat Sonic and conquer the Animal Kingdom.
- Quoting AOSTH Robotnik's catchphrase "I hate that hedgehog!" in several episodes to count, and even parodying Big Smoke's famous quote in the episode "SSJ Plush Adventure: Who's Cooler?!" by having Robotnik say "You messed with the wrong piece of science fool!".
- Sometimes moments of his violence, aggression, short temper and crimes are also exaggerated for comic effect, such as him abusing his henchmen in very petty and remorseless ways.
- He also happens to be extremely incompetent. Many of his plots to defeat Sonic or cause trouble onto the Animal Kingdom as a supervillain, often don't have any real effect half the time, and typically backfire on him because of his overconfidence and reckless habits prior to his overinflated ego, as well as traits such his laziness, clumsiness and lack of keen premeditation to how Team Sonic foils his plans, all of which prevents him from achieving his goals in general.
- His failures in defeating Team Sonic became even more exaggerated to the point of it being farcical in the entirety of The SuperSonicJoseph Series (especially in the SSJ Era exemplifying this further more), which has gone to the point where his incredible levels of incompetence has him botching a few of his schemes and plans of action very easily and all in very cartoonish and ridiculous ways.
- It's not helping that in the SSJ Era, Robotnik is eventually treated as more and more of a bumbling comic foil for everyone to make fun of him compared to how threatening he (kind of) used to be in The SSL Series Show. Nowadays the incompetence going in his misdeeds has made him become the butt of the jokes towards his heroic adversaries like Sonic and Scoobo for example, and has now prone to countless accident-prone mishaps, making him a victim of the many demeaning jokes targeting Robotnik's biggest shortcomings like his wrath and childishness, all of which are also played for laughs. Examples of this can be found in episodes like "SSJ Plush Adventure: Sonic Junior's 11th Birthday!", "SSJ Plush Adventure: The Pests from Eggman's West!", "SSJ Plush Adventure: Sonic's Voice Problem!" and "SSJ Plush Adventure: Stuck'ed", just to name a few.
- He is On & Off, as he either wants to antagonize The Animal Kingdom as a form of megalomania, or Robotnik wants to do some good deeds such as helping Team Sonic survive certain predicaments for the sole purpose with doing nothing but chill and relax in his fortress.
- In fact, he has also done some vitally heroic acts thanks to his genius intellect despite being extremely lazy and inept as a villain, some episodes that include "SSL Short: The New House! Part 1-2", "Where's Sonic?", "SSL Short: Back to California" and especially "SSL Movie: The Room", five episodes that has depicted him as a supportive genius who is on the side of Sonic & friends and Robotnik's acts here were essential since he promptly warned them of the situation at hand. Instead of attempting to maroon them and leave them all dead, he instead used his resourcefulness for the purpose of saving them from being obliterated despite being an evil scientist.
- He would also join on the fun with enjoying Team Sonic's activities, antics & holidays whenever he doesn't feel miserable or having the urge to do anything malicious yet, some examples include "SSJ Plush Adventure: Sonic's Christmas!" and "SSJ Plush Adventure: Halloween! 2!", two episodes where he is at his least villainous.
- Despite being often cruel to his henchmen, he has provided some genuinely affable moments to everyone here and there.
- He is sometimes played up for sympathy, which can make him too tragic to be Near Pure Evil.
- He was also tortured by Bowser (his dimwitted roommate who kept forcing him to be evil and homicidal) in the episode "SSJ Plush Adventure: Sonic and Robotnik's KINDA Stressful Day!", he also got quite paranoid and traumatized by his nightmare about Sonic laughing at him while tied up, which got Robotnik wanting to murder Sonic when he thought Sonic was the nightmare standing in front of him in the episode "SSJ Plush Short: Eggman the Unlucky Genius!", and in "SSJ Plush Short: Eggman gets Necked!"; everyone kept slapping his neck, which caused Robotnik to get angry and hostile at his breaking point.
- He can be a complete scapegoat sometimes. He typically receives violent punishments by Sonic & friends for any misdeed he does (no matter how bad or harmless) and there are episodes that show him getting treated like dirt when he hasn't done much wrong. It's not helping that he is regularly mocked by everyone in the Animal Kingdom for the fact he's fat and a lazy supervillain.
- Despite all the cruelty and every single crime Robotnik has ever did, he still proves to have some standards compared to Sith Cynical, a demonic spirit who achieved at possessing Mario ever since 2017 and made him look bad so Sith could mentally (and physically) harm Mario himself without anyone knowing how evil he actually was for three years until the episode "SSJ Plush Adventure: Readapted Super Mario!" showcases this, which had Robotnik showing some shock and disgust of someone like Sith Cynical.
Trivia[]
- Robotnik is one of the many major characters that are considered to be fan-favorites as shown here. Ranking in fourth place to be nearly a beloved character next to Sonic Junior and Scoobo.
