Dr. Borous is a member of Think-Tanks who are a group of crazed scientists who appears as main antagonists of Old World Blues add-on and unseen antagonists of "Dead Money" add-on. They are extremists who want to improve world while not caring how far they have to go, however Borous is the only one who enjoyed deaths he caused and had much less noble intentions.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Lack symaptetic traits of other members of Think-Tank like being anti-villain or being arguable scapegoat instead he is a petty sadist who would do anything to continue his research, he was like that even before beind turned into Think-Tank and brainwashed by Mobius and there is nothing impying him to be american patriot like others. Additionaly while he had a tragedy of being bullied in school and having unrequired crush who hadn't return his feelings, this doesn't come close to excusing his actions and only show how petty he truly is.
  • He alongside other Think-Tanks is responsible for massacre of Sierra Madre, destruction of Hopeville and turning it's residents into Marked Men, turning countless people in Lobotomites and many more inhumane experiments.
  • Created dangerous creatures like the Cazadors and Nightstalkers, which not only escaped but also spread throughout the Mojave. Their escape was considered one of the deadliest incidents in Big Mountain.
  • He was much more xenophobic towards Chinese-American detainees than other member of Think Tanks calling all of them "commies" and in case of his colleagues he expected that his experiments will end with their brutal deaths.
  • He became head of the X-8 cyberdog project which in which he tortured and drugged multiple dogs (including his best friend Gabe) to turn them into cyberdogs, while never shown on-screen their aggresive extremly behavior of them was caused by Borous actions.
  • During project he also created K9000 cyberdog gun which was some wierd form of cyberdog which wasn't able to move on it's own and is basically a weapon with a dog brain attached to it.
  • To test his cyberdogs he tricked multiple Chinese-American detainees that they are send into X-8 research center for infiltration testing, but were actually send to test the cyberdogs' ability to detect said infiltrators, what ended with multiple of them being brutally killed.
  • At one point he send a shipment of Nightstalkers in place of standard dogs to X-8 research center without telling any of the worker. When released, the creatures massacred the facility's shipping department, leaving Skippy as its only survivor and causing the entire area to be locked down.
  • He used X-8 splicing facility terminal in his experiments in which he put who creatures or robots in chmber and after turning on the machine spliced the creatures, only splicing dog and robot was succesful with others ending with subjects being brutally mutilated or end product dying shortly after it's creation.

What makes him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is a comic relief with the most memorable moment of that being his pathetic rants on intercome in X-8 research center during experiments.
  • He can redeem himself like by deciding to stay in Big Mountain after completing his personal quest or show honorable side by staying after being outvoted.
  • While to a lesser extent he is still a well intentioned extremist whose goal was to help humanity ith his Robodogs being created to help police officres in their job.
  • While he was already evil and done his worst actions before that, him being brainwashed by Mobius is still slightly giving him moral agency issues as he seem to have remorse of his crimes and is not able to express it for very long because of brainwashing.
  • While he is extremly rude most of the time he can become more polite to Courier after bringing him back Gabe's bowl and will thank them if Gabe was saved from robo scorpions.
  • Even while he experimented on him he cared about his dog Gabe, considering him his best friend, he will mourn his death if he will be killed and thank Courier if he will be saved, he also has remorse for experimenting on him.
  • His tragedy of being alone for his entire life while debased by his horrible actions is still taken slightly sympathetic due to his insecurities.
  • After his quest he will express remorse for turning Gabe into cyberdog, after what he will regret even comming to Big Mountain what makes him too remorseful for being Near Pure Evil.
  • His optional death is potrayed slightly sympathetic.
  • He respected Ulysses, and was friendly to him.
  • He is at times helpful to Courier, even giving him gifts from time to time. These actions makes him on & off even in endings when he doesn't redeem himself.
