Dave the Intern is a supporting antagonist in the animated comedy series Sonic Boom. He is a Meh Burger employee who strives to become a great villain like his father.
He was voiced by Roger Craig Smith in English and by Yuta Odagaki in Japanese.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
Season 1[]
- He chose to serve Dr. Eggman out of admiration for his evil acts and in hopes of getting to commit crimes.
- After overhearing Cubot get jealous of him, he disassembled him and hid the remains, temporarily killing him.
- After Eggman refused him the chance to commit anything evil, he stole his Doomsday Device and activated it despite knowing it would destroy the planet. This led Eggman to build and activate a second Doomsday Device and resulted in the creation of a black hole which, according to Tails, would have consumed all of existence had it not been destroyed.
- After believing that Tails was evil, he persuaded him to join the Lightning Bolt Society.
- He planted carnivorous plants in Sticks' orchard.
- He and the rest of Lightning Bolt Society took over Eggman's base and caused chaos while trying to figure out how to control his weapons. Him and his friends' careless handling of Eggman's technology caused chaos all over Hedgehog Village, even thoughtlessly causing a rocket to be flown around town and explode in a area, even if it caused the chief of the Gogobas to get his leg crushed by a giant boulder.
- He voted against letting Sonic return so that he couldn't defeat Eggman.
- He joined the rest of the village in scorning Sonic for his insensitive comment.
- He and the Lightning Bolt Society caused mayhem on the island when Sonic quit his job.
- He attempted to destroy Team Sonic while they were relaxing.
- After accidentally knocking Eggman out, he imprisoned him and took his weapons in an effort to become a respected villain.
- He teamed up with Eggman in an attempt to defeat Team Sonic once and for all.
Season 2[]
- He joined the rest of the village in scorning Sticks over her villainous ancestry.
- While he helped Sticks save the Meh Burger customers even after he got fired, it was out of their mutual hatred for robots that took over his job rather than altruism.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is constantly played for laughs, especially because of his nerdy personality traits and his childish moments. He isn't taken seriously in-universe either, as he is often grouped with the Lightning Bolt Society, who have the reputation of inept villains.
- His desire to become a great villain is somewhat played for sympathy.
- He is genuinely affable to the other Lightning Bolt Society members and is even friends with them. He also helped Team Sonic stage Amy's play without any pragmatic reasoning.
- He seems to care about his mother despite being frustrated by her nagging.
- He is somewhat honorable, as he felt grateful to Team Sonic for restoring his restaurant.
- He was angry at Sonic for "insulting" Mike the Ox, showing that he does have some standards.
- He has a tragic backstory as, in ''Next Top Villain'' it is implied that a bad home life is what made him becoming a villain.
Trivia[]
- As of now, he and Knuckles the Echidna are the only Sonic Boom characters to be Inconsistently Heinous.
