~ Darthenshmirtz disclosing his resentment towards Darth Vader. |
Darthenshmirtz is the main antagonist of the Disney Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb special "Phineas & Ferb: Star Wars", which serves as a non-canonical crossover with the Star Wars franchise.
He is a lesser-known Sith Lord with few midi-chlorians from a galaxy far, far away that conceived the idea of what was ultimately developed by the Galactic Empire into the Death Star battle station but didn't get any credit for it. Wishing for some recognition and seeking absolute control over the galaxy, Darthenshmirtz invents the Sith-inator to become the best Sith of all time as the events of the original Star Wars film take place.
Just like his original counterpart, he was voiced by series co-creator Dan Povenmire.
His Evil Ranking[]
Debated Validations[]
- He seems to care for Norm-3PO akin to how his canon counterpart often does (perhaps even more), but it's unknown if he really cares for his droid or not as he seemingly left a deactivated Norm-3PO behind aboard the Death Star, with his fate being left unclear if he reactivated and escaped in time or if he got blown up with the battle station.
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He came up with the concept of the Death Star as a nutcracker device called the Doof Star, but the Galactic Empire stole his idea and reworked it into the Death Star, which they later use to blow up Alderaan.
- Though Darthenshmirtz never intended for his idea to become a planet-killer, he later expresses during a musical number to take over the Death Star and states being aware of what the station did to Alderaan, proving that he didn't care at all at how his concept was misused due to him not getting any credit for it nor being acknowledged by the Order of the Sith Lords or the Imperial bureaucrats.
- He created the Sith-inator to turn himself eviler than Darth Vader currently is so he can be promoted to CEO of the Death Star and take over the galaxy to prove his superiority.
- He stole from Darth Vader's garbage with dark side residuals so he can power up his Sith-inator with Vader's evilness because the Sith Lord didn't even hear his petition for some of the Force.
- He tricked the Rebel Alliance operative Perry the Rebelpus into getting trapped by him by having him stand over a trap door with a marked red X that freezes him in carbonite.
- He tried to test his Sith-inator on Perry first just in case it potentially ends up killing him or disfiguring him to the point he will need a Vader-like helmet, while planning to recruit him as his Sith right-hand if he survives the ray and turns evil so they could rule the galaxy together.
- He shrugged off Ferb Fletcher's attempt to save Perry from being corrupted by the Sith-inator by remaking that the meddling kid could serve him now as a fellow Sith Lord to recruit alongside Perry, which led him to retrieve more of Vader's trash to refuel his Sith-inator again.
- The Sith-inator's effects on Ferb turn him into Darth Ferb, who tried to create an entire Sith army by modifying the Sith-inator and tried to kill his stepbrother during his brainwashed state, which made Darthenshmirtz indirectly involved for Darth Ferb's plans.
- He activated the trash compactor of the Death Star after getting garbage from Dianoga just to clean up the cell, which nearly got Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa and Chewbacca all crushed to death by the trash compactor. Even though this wasn't on purpose, Darthenshmirtz did hear their screams for help and dismissed them as people wishing for help to oil the compactor.
- He ravaged the Imperial Credit Union's room at the Death Star as he fought with a now unfrozen Perry the Rebelpus.
- He attempted to attack Perry with his lightsaber, only failing to do so due to mixing his flashlight with his lightsaber within his camping supplies.
- His careless act of installing a self-destruct mechanism inside the Death Star like he often includes in his other canonical self's inventions allow the Rebel Alliance to win the Battle of Yavin and destroy the Death Star, claiming all the Imperial lives there.
- He technically manages to get away with his crimes through an escape pod of Perry's ship while swearing to fight Perry in a sequel (that was never made), his only karma being that the pod wasn't comfortable for him due to his size.
- Unlike his canon counterpart, there are no mentions of Darthenshmirtz suffering a tragic childhood with neglectful parents or even having an ex-wife and a daughter like he does in canon, so unlike his original version, Darthenshmirtz lacks any valid or understandable excuses behind his villainy.
- As the special itself confirms in its opening crawl that its story isn't canon for both Phineas & Ferb and Star Wars, the Heinous Standards of both franchises are radically different here and due to the show not adapting the rest of the latter's Skywalker Saga, it's unknown how many Star Wars villains also exist in the special's universe in addition to those who barely have a pivotal role in the episode, allowing Darthenshmirtz to easily stand out.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too comedic to be PE or NPE like most Phineas and Ferb villains, and in true Doofenshmirtz fashion in this case, as Darthenshmirtz is Doof's Star Wars counterpart for this special.
- Behaves in an affectionate and friendly way to the Death Star's Dianoga, thanking him for retrieving some of Vader's garbage behind his back for his Sith-inator.
- He asked Ferb if he was ok after he was hit with the Sith-Inator meaning he has some sort of standards.
Trivia[]
- Darthenshmirtz is, alongside Heinz Doofenshmirtz, Aloyse Von Roddenstein, Rodrigo and Super Super Big Doctor, one of the five Phineas and Ferb characters to be Inconsistently Heinous.
- From all of them, however, Darthenshmirtz is the sole one to come from a non-canonical episode.
- In a funny twist of irony, Darthenshmirtz technically preceded the official Star Wars villain Orson Krennic as the one who designed the Death Star before Krennic's debut two years after the Phineas & Ferb special's airing with the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, Krennic qualifies as Pure Evil due to him being more seriously taken, conceiving the Death Star as a planet-killer from the beginning and having less resources due to his status as a normal living being without being a Force-sensitive.
