~ D.A. Sinclair preparing to turn Rick Sheridan into a Reanimen |
D.A. Sinclair is a supporting character, from the Robert Kirkman's Image Comics series Invincible.
He's a mad genius who believed humanity was flawed and attempted to single handedly "fix" the issues by creating Reanimen, zombie-like creatures with incredible strength. While he initially only produced them from dead bodies, he eventually moved on to live subjects and became arguably one of the most horrifying villains in the story.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He desecrated the corpses of countless people when producing his first Reanimen, most likely without prior consent from them or their families.
- He let one of his Reanimen loose to cause havoc amongst a crowd of people before it eventually self-terminated after a fight with Invincible.
- He kidnapped Rick Sheridan and turned him into a Renaniman, purely out of curiosity of what results he would get when experimenting on a live human.
- Becoming a Reaniman is treated as a fate worse than death, and while Rick is later able to physically recover thanks to the Global Defense Agency, he is left with severe mental scars that never completely fade.
- He experimented on multiple homeless people to create his new live Reanimen, with it being implied that many of them were amongst his army we see later.
- He abducted an undercover William, intending to turn him into a Reaniman as well and likely would have succeeded had Invincible and Rick not intervened.
- He sent Rick and his Reanimen army to kill Invincible.
- While many villains in Invincible commit crimes on a far grander scale, Sinclair still stands out due to his low resources and the disturbing nature of his experiments.
- Although Steven Erickson conducted similarly heinous experiments, Erickson has a lower victim count and higher resources.
- His actions would later stir up distrust between Invincible and Cecil Steadman as his previous crimes were so horrific that Mark cut ties with the Global Defense Agency out of disgust that they would recruit a person like him instead of sending him to prison.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is a well-intentioned extremist as he genuinely believed his Reanimen would improve society as a whole, focusing on the ends justifying the means when partaking in his cruel experiments.
- He gets happily married to woman called Justine and they later expect a child. It's shown he loves his wife so much that he likes spending time with her more than creating Reanimen.
- He is loyal to Cecil and appreciated being given a second chance.
- His time working in the Global Defense Agency changes him to the point where he grows to feel remorse for his crimes and redeems himself. Even after the now-villainous Robot takes over the Agency, he still chooses to side with the heroes, saving them from Robot's imprisonment.
