Curator Ponds is the main antagonist of the Amphibia episode "Wax Museum".
He is a founder and owner of Curiosity Hunt in Stony Gulch. However, Ponds has been capturing and freezing animals to turn them into wax statues for a public exhibition alive for a while, until he comes across Anne Boonchuy and the Plantars.
He was voiced by Alex Hirsch, who also voiced Stanley Pines, the character Ponds is a parody of, in Gravity Falls.
His Evil Rankings[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He captured and froze many sapient animals into a wax statue in order to put them of a museum for a public exhibition.
- One of them looked at Polly, proving they aware of their fates.
- When Anne asked him for a CD player called the Skip Man, he tricked her into coming to a museum so he could turn her into a wax statue, almost freezing her alive.
- When the Plantars tried to stop him from freezing Anne alive, he attempted to turn them into statues so they couldn't get in his way.
- Despite being killed by the many animals he captured, it was played for satisfaction, considering he almost put Anne and the Plantars in danger.
- Despite the high heinous standard, he stands out due to having lower resources and a unique crime of trapping many sapient animals in an "And I Must Scream" fate.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is too comedic to be PE or NPE due to being a parody of Stanley Pines from Gravity Falls, even having the same voice actor with the exact same voice.
- He is a bit affable, as when Anne lamented about being a dumb girl who falls for many traps, he comforted her by calling her a very bright young lady who's just having a bad day.
Trivia[]
- Curator Ponds is the only Inconsistently Heinous character from Amphibia to be a one-shot character, as all of the other IHs are the show's main villains.
- He is also, alongside The Core, one of the two Amphibia IHs to not redeem themselves.
- He was initially a Villainous Benchmark due to being assumed that his crimes rely on Fridge Horror as it wasn't confirmed the animals he turns into wax statues are still sentient. However, once it was proven they are sentient, Ponds was proposed and approved as Inconsistently Heinous.
- Coincidently, since he is a parody/alternate universe version of Stanley Pines, he is one of the few characters to have a canon version of a different character that takes place in the same multiverse and being a parody in general to qualify as Inconsistently Heinous.
