~ Count Bleck letting his old identity die to be replaced by his new drive of destroying all worlds. |
Count Bleck, formerly known as Lord Blumiere, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Dimentio) of the 2007 Nintendo Wii video game Super Paper Mario.
He is a mysterious figure who wanted to end all worlds with the power of the Chaos Heart by summoning the Void supposedly so he can create new worlds in their place, when in fact he intends to keep them in ruin.
His Evil Rankings[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He killed his father and his entire tribe, with it being implied that he also erased the reality he lived in. Though Count Bleck's father did abuse him and didn't allow him to be with Timpani all because she was human.
- He kidnapped Princess Peach and Paper Bowser to force them to get married in order to summon the Chaos Heart.
- He tried to use the Chaos Heart to open the Void with the intent on destroying the entire multiverse, making him one of the most heinous villains in the entire Mario franchise, alongside Dimentio.
- He also lied to his henchmen by saying he was going to create new worlds with them even though he was going to keep the destroyed worlds in ruin.
- He destroyed the Sammer's Kingdom, effectively killing billions of people in the process, which even Bowser found overkill.
- He let his minions do whatever they want, no matter how cruel, as long as they still help him in the end.
- Even after he found out Timpani is still alive, he still went through with his plan to destroy the multiverse, albeit reluctantly and because he didn't think the Void could be stopped at that point in the process.
- While he does have some comedic moments such as speaking in first person about himself and his over-the-top evil laugh, they don’t detract from his heinous crimes.
- Although he does redeem himself from his actions, he doesn't feel strong remorse and barely acknowledges that his actions of destroying the multiverse were very terrible and heinous.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is extremely tragic as his father teleported Timpani to another dimension in order to prevent their marriage which left Lord Blumiere heartbroken, and his lack of success in his search for Timpani caused him to become a nihilist. While it does not excuse trying to destroy the multiverse, it is still played with heavy sympathy and it's what motivated his vile actions.
- Despite his heinous actions, he has genuine care and respect for some people in his life:
- He fell in love with a woman named Timpani that was outside his tribe, loving her so much that he was ready to break his tribe's taboo of marrying people outside his tribe, which would weaken his magical capabilities. It was his love for Timpani that allowed Bleck to redeem himself.
- While he lied about his true intentions at first, he grew to care for his minions, since he saved Nastasia from a web and cried out her name after she sacrificed her life to save him from Dimentio. He also refused to punish them even when they failed to stop the heroes (though Nastasia decided to punish O’Chunks), feeling appreciative when they stood by his side following Dimentio's treachery.
- He is genuinely affable to his enemies, most notably Mario for his bravery and heroism.
- After he was defeated and left in a weakened state, he felt remorse for his actions and with the help of Timpani, redeems himself, and even begs Dimentio to stop when he tries to destroy the multiverse to recreate it in his image. Alongside Timpani and the Pure Hearts, he subsequently sacrificed himself in order to seal away the Chaos Heart, fixing all of the realities that were previously destroyed.
