Constantine, also known as The World's Most Dangerous Frog, is the main antagonist of the 2014 film Muppets Most Wanted, the sequel to the 2011 film The Muppets.
He is the evil doppelgänger of iconic Muppet Kermit the Frog, who is claimed to be the "Number One" criminal of the world. He and his subordinate/pawn, Dominic Badguy, formulated an evil plot to steal the crown jewels. He resembles Kermit the Frog, aside from the fact that a black beauty mark is depicted on his left cheek. He is also the arch-nemesis of Kermit, alongside Walter, Fozzie Bear, and Animal.
He was performed and voiced by Matt Vogel.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- Upon breaking free from the Gulag, he attacked a bunch of guards using martial arts before activating a jailbreak, setting all the other prisoners free, before blowing it up by activating a bomb.
- He set up a plan with his accomplice, Dominic Badguy, to trick the Muppets into going on tour so they can steal the crown jewels and frame the Muppets.
- He framed Kermit by putting a mole on his face to trick people into thinking that he is him after Dominic tricked him into taking a stroll, putting paint over his own mole to trick the Muppets into thinking that he is Kermit.
- While the tours went on, he had Dominic bribe journalists into writing 5-star reviews and audience members into giving standing ovations for the Muppets' performances in order to manipulate the Muppets into thinking that they did splendid jobs and have truly won the crowds' love.
- He and Dominic broke into a museum and successfully stole a painting that contained the location of the key to the locket that contains the jewelry on the back of it.
- While the Muppets' second performance went on on, he and Dominic broke into another museum and smashed several statues in order to find and stole the key that was inside one of them.
- While the Muppets' third tour went on, he and Dominic found the room where Thomas Blood's skeleton is buried in and took the locket attached to his hands.
- He then made a fake proposal for Miss Piggy, tricking her into thinking that he wants to marry her when in reality, he intended to take advantage of the fake wedding to successfully steal the jewels and get away with the act and then blow Miss Piggy up with the bomb disguised as a ring attached to her finger and frame the Muppets for the theft.
- When he discovered Fozzie and Walter discovering who he really is, he prepared to attack them only for Animal to ambush and fall on him.
- Upon getting up, he made an attempt to kill them with metallic sharp teeth only for them to escape through a window and land in another train.
- While the wedding was being set up, he hired a bunch of infants to help Dominic steal the jewels and take them to the helicopter while he, impersonating Kermit, pretended to marry Miss Piggy.
- When Kermit and his friends eventually managed to help Miss Piggy realize who the real Kermit is, Constantine revealed himself and activated the bomb disguised as a ring on Miss Piggy's finger in an attempt to get everyone in the wedding hall killed, people and Muppets alike, which would have given him a body count of hundreds.
- He then proceeded to kidnap and bring Miss Piggy onto his helicopter against her will in an attempt to get away with the jewelry.
- When Dominic revealed himself as the Lemur and attempted to double cross him, Constantine blew him out of his helicopter with a bomb, having seen it coming from a mile away.
- When Kermit got on the helicopter in an attempt to rescue Miss Piggy, Constantine held him at gunpoint and prepared to kill him only for Miss Piggy to untie her hands and beat him up by slamming him on the helicopter seat and on the window with him getting arrested in the end.
- While he did join the rest of the Muppets in the final musical number, it doesn't really count as redeeming himself since isn't shown to be remorseful of his crimes, and it's more likely he did so out of accepting his re-imprisonment.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is still played for laughs too much to be NPE, with the entire joke is that Animal is the only one to catch onto him despite how obvious it is that it isn't Kermit, and he has many comedic moments such as the way he attacks the guards with there being cartoonish sound effects every time he lands a hit on one of them, him saying "boo" to Kermit before slapping and putting a mole on his face, him saying "my name first, then spacebar, spacebar, spacebar your name" while conversing with Dominic Badguy in private about how their future act of stealing the jewels will make them the world's top criminals, him singing a whole song to rub it in Dominic's face on how he's number one and how Dominic is number two while forcing him to dance and then performing some comedic dances himself while also putting himself in a bit of slapstick comedy and ending the song by dancing on Dominic's head, him getting stage fright while trying to do the Muppets intro and falling off the title card, him singing a song to Miss Piggy with him telling her he can get her things, even things that are either ridiculous, non-existent, or impossible to get, him trying to imitate Kermit's lines on TV, saying Kermit's line "the lovers, the dreamers, and me" as "the lovers, the dreamers, and cheese" and thinking he nailed it, him mistaking Kermit for his reflection and doing silly things in front of it, him hiring a group of infants to help Dominic steal the jewels, him and Kermit arguing with each other comedically over who is the real Kermit, and his defeat of getting beat up by Miss Piggy who whacks him into the helicopter seat and into the window back and forth several times in a comedic fashion before ending up getting the mole he placed on Kermit placed on him and getting knocked unconscious before getting arrested.
