Clarke Griffin is the main protagonist of The 100 who was born and raised on the Ark. She was arrested by the Ark's guard in an attempt to aid her father in exposing the truth about the oxygen supply. However, since she was a minor, she wouldn't be ejected from the Ark or "floated" for her crime. Instead, she would join 99 other juvenile delinquents on Earth to explore and ultimately see if it is survivable.

She is portrayed by Eliza Taylor and Ella Pitkin as a child.

Her Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Her Heinous?[]

In General[]

  • She committed genocide and has committed a myriad of villainous deeds throughout the series.
  • She's mentally unstable, spiteful, arrogant, and even impulsive.
  • She is very lethal with a kill count of well over 600 people (not including mercy or indirect kills).

Season 1[]

  • She was extremely harsh towards Wells to the point of constantly berating him and even telling him to die for supposedly ratting out her and her father to his father, Thelonious.
    • When she finds out that it was actually her mother who told Thelonious about her father, she removes her wristband so that her mother can "feel what she felt."
  • Even though she was trying to save Finn, she aids in torturing Lincoln to get answers out of him for the antidote for the poison.
  • Clarke orders Bellamy to secretly bring guns to the truce, which is ultimately why the attempt failed.

Season 2[]

  • When she breaks out of her room she threatens Mya's life with a shard of glass to her throat.
  • Her suspicion of the Mountain Men leads her to almost killing the Mountain Men.
  • Her tactics to beating the Mountain Men are ruthless.
    • The worst of her decisions begins at letting the Mount Weather missile destroy Tondc allowing many innocent people to be severely injured or killed, so that the Mountain Men wouldn't know that Bellamy was an inside man.
    • While yes she did know that cutting down their power temporarily would be harmless, as Dante Wallace stated she still put many innocent lives at risk including people that helped her.
    • She kills Cage's father Dante, as a bargaining chip to Cage to get him to free her people.
      • This completely backfires and in a rage Cage interrupts the bone marrow extraction on the current patient and switches that patient out with Clarke's mother, nearly getting her own mom killed.
    • Clarke finally defeats Mount Weather but at a cost, she irradiates Level 5 killing well over 300 people.

Season 3[]

  • Because of her heinous genocide at Mount Weather she is titled "Wanheda" which translates to Commander of Death, making her a prime target for many grounders.

Season 4[]

  • When Jasper finds the list of 100 survivors for Alpha Station, she shocks Jasper in an attempt to hide the truth and orders the guards to lock him up as the acting Chancellor in Kane's place.
  • Trying to use the nightblood as a solution against radiation, she forces an unnamed grounder as a test subject and threatens to use Emori.
    • When Luna expresses that she no longer wants her blood to be tested for her experiment, she gets Roan to knock out Luna and use her blood anyway (A hypocrisy noted by Raven Reyes "Welcome to Mount Weather").
  • When the final conclave has finished, it turns out that Clarke and Jaha had stolen the bunker have almost all of the sky people go into the Second Dawn Bunker, fearing that Octavia might have lost the conclave.
    • Clarke even goes so far as to have Bellamy locked up and then when he escapes, she threatens to shoot him if he opens the bunker door. Which she fortunately doesn't.

Season 5[]

  • When she had been telling Madi her stories on Earth, she conveniently left out all the terrible things she has done.
  • Even though it was to prevent war, she killed Cooper with the worms as part of their plan to stop Octavia from going to war.
  • Clarke betrays Wonkru and reveals to McCreary that Wonkru worked with Raven and Echo to turn off the satellite camera and replace its feed with a video loop.
    • This leads to a deal Clarke makes with McCreary that she and Madi can stay with them so long as Clarke can heal Abby so she can heal McCreary's men.
    • Even when Abby disagrees and warns Clarke about how dangerous McCreary is, she still goes along with the deal claiming she and McCreary want the same thing which is to stop Octavia.
  • Clarke put a shock collar on Madi and shocks her whenever she tries to run away.
  • Clarke points a gun and threatens to shoot Raven when they try to free Madi.
  • She tries to justify betraying Bellamy, and her friends, by citing the time Lexa betrayed her by taking Mount Weather's deal.

Season 6[]

  • Clarke unleashes an airlock, floating every single one of Russell Lightbourne's family members out.
    • Even though her mom's body was stolen by Simone, she still unleashes the airlock on her and in a way ends up killing her own mother too.

Season 7[]

  • While it was out of torture, she ends up helping Bill Cadogan who has plans to start a final war.
  • Clarke (while very reluctant to do so) shoots and kills Bellamy after a discussion about how she can't let the disciples hurt Madi.
    • She does this so she can take the sketchbook and keep Madi protected, however even after killing Bellamy she leaves behind the sketchbook anyway.
    • This is also very upsetting because Bellamy ended up being right about the disciples anyway, about how Madi and everyone won't have to suffer anymore when they transcend.
    • While yes it is mostly true that she kills to protect her people, she chooses to needlessly kill a dozen disciple guards.
  • She needlessly kills Bill Cadogan in coldblood while he is taking the test that will determine the fate of humanity, saying "Pencil's down" as to assume the test is over.
    • However, the test has not ended and now Clarke is the one whose to determine the fate of humanity and lies to the judge about her true intentions for killing Bill Cadogan.
    • When Clarke takes the test and is speaking with the Judge, she expresses nothing but anger, vengeance, and spite which nearly damns the entire of human race from ever transcending.
    • Luckily, humanity does transcend. However, Clarke does not because she is the first test subject to have committed a murder during the test which Clarke wasn't very repentant about.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • She's an on & off character who has plenty of heroic and noble moments throughout the show as well.
  • It is made clear in the show that Clarke is very remorseful for a lot of the heinous acts she has committed, especially for committing genocide at Mount Weather.
  • She is very tragic for numerous reasons:
    • She lost her father in an execution after he was arrested for treason for making a video in an attempt to whistle-blow about the Ark's oxygen crisis.
    • Clarke later loses her good friend Wells Jaha who was killed by Charlotte because she couldn't kill his father Thelonious Jaha for killing her parents.
    • Her girlfriend Lexa dies from being accidentally killed by Lexa's flamekeeper Titus.
    • She gets left behind to save her friends and suffered from severe radiation poisoning but survived because of her nightblood, as a result she travelled the ruins of the earth alone for three months.
    • Russell Lightbourne killed Clarke's mother Abby after wiping her mind and implanting Simone Lightbourne in Abby's body.
  • Even if incredibly selfish at times, she really does care a lot about her friends even if they don't fully appreciate her.
  • She is super protective of her people and her family, especially her adoptive daughter Madi.
  • Even if she's killed lives she has also saved plenty of lives as well, especially since she's a doctor.

Trivia[]

  • Clarke Griffin and A.L.I.E. are the only The 100 characters on the Inconsistently Heinous wiki.
