As a great man once said: Wait 'til they get a load of me.
~ Chris D'Amico quoting the Joker from the 1989 Batman film.

Jesus, you are such a pussy. What is the point of wearing a mask if you can't do what you want? No, people want to win the lottery. People want to fuck Scarlett Johansson.
~ The Motherfucker beating Kick-Ass.

You made this real. You started it! And I'm gonna finish it. I'll be immortal, like an evil Jesus.
~ Chris to Kick-Ass before falling to his "death".

Christopher "Chris" D'Amico, also known as Red Mist and later The Motherfucker, is the secondary antagonist of the Kick-Ass duology, serving as the secondary antagonist of the 2010 film Kick-Ass and the main antagonist of its 2013 sequel Kick-Ass 2. He is the son of mobster Frank D'Amico and later becomes the first real-life supervillain, as well as the archenemy of Kick-Ass after he killed his father.

He was portrayed by Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

Kick-Ass[]

  • Even before getting involved, Chris desired to follow on his father's footsteps and become a crime lord.
  • Chris was willing to act like a superhero to gain Kick-Ass's trust and then deliver him to his father.
    • This also meant convincing his father to turn in one of his own men so his new identity as the superhero Red Mist gained more notoriety.
  • After learning of the existence of Big Daddy and Hit-Girl as allies to Kick-Ass, Chris arranged a successful ambush for all three of them.
    • During the ambush, Chris shot Hit-Girl in the chest, even though she was a little girl.
    • After being captured, Big Daddy and Kick-Ass were tortured during a live broadcast by his dad's henchmen.
  • Tried to beat up Kick-Ass per order of his dad after he and Hit-Girl infiltrated their house.
    • After being initially defeated, Chris woke up and picked up a sword, all but confirming that he was willing to murder the hero.

Kick-Ass 2[]

  • In a fit of rage, Chris broke his mother's tanning bed while she was in it due to her not agreeing with his obsession with Kick-Ass after the death of his father, accidentally killing her.
  • All alone with Javier as his bodyguard, Chris decided to use his wealth to become a supervillain to get revenge on Kick-Ass.
  • During his first crime as the Motherf--ker, Chris assaulted a convenience store.
  • Hoping to assemble his own supervillain group, Chris started to pay various criminals (from mob enforcer to even ex-Triad gang members) to put on a costume and work for him.
  • Decided to continue with his revenge plot despite his uncle Ralph killing Javier to advise him against it.
    • He even claimed that the death of Javier was necessary.
  • Infiltrated the Justice Forever hideout and had Mother Russia kill Colonel Stars and Stripes.
  • After learning the identity of a superhero named Night Bitch, who was dating Kick-Ass, Chris goes to attack her in her house and tries to rape her, but when he's unable to get an erection he resorts to beating her up, leaving her hospitalized.
    • While he was doing this, Mother Russia, one of his henchmen, killed many police officers outside.
  • When Kick-Ass's father takes the blame for his son and claims to be Kick-Ass to the police, Chris had some thugs kill him in prison and take a picture of his corpse, which he later sent to Kick-Ass.
  • During the funeral for Kick-Ass's father, Chris had some of his guys assault the event and kidnap Dave.
    • The assault also resulted in the death of multiple officers and civilians.
  • Chris planned to record Kick-Ass being mutilated and later feed to a shark.
    • He would later give his army some homemade bombs to cause a riot.
  • When Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl infiltrated his lair along with the rest of Justice Forever, Chris led an all out battle between both groups.
    • During the battle, Chris tried to kill Kick-Ass and was fighting unfairly, as he tried to have his minions help him restrain the hero on multiple occasions.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Unlike his comic counterpart, Chris is not only shown as a more comedic villain despite his actions, making it clear how delusional he is, but he's also treated as a way more sympathetic character.
  • Chris has genuine care and love for his family, as the sole reason he wanted revenge on Kick-Ass was for him killing his father.
    • While he did kill his own mother, this was by accident.
    • Chris also cared a lot about his bodyguard Javier, despite claiming that his death was necessary, he was visibly distraught when his uncle killed him.
  • During the murder of Colonel Stars and Stripes he refused to kill his dog, saying that he wasn't "that evil".
  • He initially didn't want to really hurt Kick-Ass, and tried to convince his dad to let him go.
    • Even after their explosive conflict in the second film, Chris had a moment of clarity and actually apologized after being defeated before he was attacked by the shark.
  • In the end despite his crimes he did ultimately try to redeem himself by apologizing to Kick Ass only for a shark to attack him and rip off both of his legs, even if he did survive, making him somewhat of a scapegoat.

Trivia[]

  • If some of the nastier moments and crimes from his comic book counterpart would've been included in this version, Chris D'Amico could have been Near Pure Evil.
