Cassidy Casablancas is a major character in Veronica Mars, serving as a minor character in season one and the main antagonist in season two. He is the youngest Casablancas brother, being much quieter and smarter than the rest of his family. He was eventually revealed to be responsible for crashing a school bus and killing everyone on board in order to prevent some of the students from telling anyone that he was molested by Woody Goodman.

What Has he Done?[]
- He lied to the police about where his friend Logan was one the day of Lily Kane's murder, because he didn't want the police to suspect Logan.
- After being pressured by his brother, he raped a roofied Veronica at a party and later lied about it.
- He placed a bomb on a school bus coming back from a field trip and set it off to kill to boys on the bus who were planning to tell the world that Woody Goodman had molested them. This killed eight people: six students (one of whom originally survived but succumbed to her injuries later) one teacher, and the bus driver.
- He murdered Curly Moran (the man who gave him the bomb) by hitting him with his car. He then wrote "Veronica Mars" on his victim's hand, hoping to frame Aaron Echols, who Veronica had recently gotten incarcerated for the murder of Lilly Kane. He proceeded to throw Curly's body into the ocean.
- He tricked Veronica into exposing his father's real-estate scam. (This might not really be a bad thing, since his father was committing a crime. However, Cassidy only had Veronica discover it so he could get revenge on his dad, and he still manipulated her.)
- He planted a bomb in Woody's car and planned to use it to kill him, not caring that he might kill Woody's children in the process.
- He planted a bomb in Woody's private jet.
- When Veronica discovered that he was responsible for the bus crash, she texted Cassidy's girlfriend Mac, who was staying in a hotel room with him. Cassidy read the text first, before pulling a gun on Mac, taking her clothes so she wouldn't leave the room, and going to the roof to confront Veronica.
- Veronica told him that Woody was on his private jet with about a dozen police officers and her father, so Cassidy blew up the jet to kill Woody, not caring about the innocent police officers he killed in the process.
- During his confrontation with her, Cassidy ruthlessly mocked Veronica for the apparent death of her father, and painfully tased her several time for no reason other than sadism. He then requested that she kill herself so that her DNA didn't get all over his shirt.
- He tries to shoot Veronica and Logan.
What Makes him Inconsistent?[]
- He is tragic for several reasons:
- He was regularly abused by his father and brother, who apparently "took turns seeing who could make him cry first". They consistently mocked him for not being "masculine" and Dick seemed to even hit him physically sometimes. After his mother left, these two (and his father's gold-digging new wife who slept with Cassidy's friends) were the only family in his life.
- He was molested by Woody, who was his Little League coach. Afterwards, Woody threatened him and got away with his actions. Cassidy's was deeply traumatized by this event, to the point where he couldn't really perform sexually with anyone. His main motivation is not wanting anyone to figure out that this had happened to him and getting revenge on the remorseless pedophile.
- He genuinely cares about several people including:
- His girlfriend Mac. He was shown genuinely enjoying spending time with, and two of them significantly brightened each other's lives. Although he did pull a gun on her, it was only in desperation, and he didn't kill her.
- He seems to care about her mother. He seemed to have a close relationship with her and asked to move to Europe with her.
- His death is played for sympathy, with him realizing that he has nothing to live for and jumping off the roof. Logan even tries to stop him, before realizing that he really does have nothing left to live for.
