Cassandra is the tritagonist of Disney's Tangled franchise. She is the deuteragonist of Tangled: Before Ever After and the tritagonist of Tangled: The Series, serving as the tritagonist of Season 1, the tritagonist-turned-final antagonist of Season 2, and the secondary antagonist of Season 3.
She is Rapunzel's handmaiden and best friend. However, she betrayed her to obtain the moonstone for herself, swearing vengeance on her and to fulfill her "destiny", turning herself into a villain and teamed up with Zhan Tiri. After Zhan Tiri betrayed her and her powers were taken away, she immediately regretted her actions, apologized to Rapunzel and they teamed up to take down Zhan Tiri and then destroyed her. After Zhan Tiri's defeat, she reconciles with Rapunzel and departs from Corona to find her own destiny.
She was voiced by Eden Espinosa as an adult and Cassie Glow and Hudson D'Andrea as a child.
Her Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Her Heinous?[]
- She betrayed Rapunzel and her friends to steal the moonstone for herself out of jealousy over Mother Gothel choosing Rapunzel over her and used it to fulfill her "destiny".
- She tries to kill her own adopted father when he tries to reason with her and convince her to return to Corona.
- She used a truth potion on Varian to get the incantation out of him, even if it means causing him pain while trying to resist.
- She tries to break Rapunzel's spirit by attempting to murder Eugene slowly by crushing him to death in front of her. She also takes sadistic enjoyment out of doing so.
- She kidnaps Calliope and threatened to trap her in limbo for 10,000 years if Rapunzel doesn't give her and Zhan Tiri a Mind-Trap stone. Even though Rapunzel already gave them a stone, it's because they only got what they wanted. She even showed no remorse over it.
- Still believing that Mother Gothel loved her, she attempts to leave Rapunzel in a cave filled with poisonous gas and trapped her inside so she will slowly suffocate to death. Though she seems to regret it, she callously brushes it off as nothing and probably decides not to show it.
- After her disguise was revealed in front of everyone in Corona by Zhan Tiri, she attacks Corona in rage and puts the entire kingdom in danger, which forced everyone to evacuate. Though it is only implied that this may have killed several people off-screen, she still puts everyone in danger.
- She attempts to kill Rapunzel and tries to obtain the Sundrop for herself before Zhan Tiri attacks her and snatched both the Sundrop and Moonstone.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She is incredibly tragic, as she was constantly neglected by her mother and is abandoned when she kidnapped Rapunzel before she was adopted by the Captain of the Guards, which caused her to develop her insecurity and inferiority complex. This tragedy made it very easy for Zhan Tiri to use to her advantage by tricking and manipulating her into betraying Rapunzel and her friends and then descending into villainy.
- Despite betraying and attempting to kill her more than once, she still genuinely cares for and is in love with Rapunzel. Even though she didn't want to do anything she did, she was still blinded by rage and thoughts that were put into her head through Zhan Tiri's manipulations. There are even several moments where she didn't want to do anything to hurt Rapunzel and wanted to reconcile with her.
- She is very insecure and strongly played for sympathy.
- She spared a vase Rapunzel owns due to being her gift from her aunt, albeit comedically.
- She attempts to turn back several times after realizing this is not what she wanted, but was pushed back into villainy through Zhan Tiri's manipulations.
- She ends up feeling heavily remorseful over what she did and admitted that she let her rage cloud her mind and prevent her from seeing what she really needs and apologizes to Rapunzel. She ends up redeeming herself by teaming up with Rapunzel to destroy Zhan Tiri and save Corona, even nearly sacrificing her life as a result. After her resurrection, she becomes a heroine once again and departs from Corona to find her own destiny.
