~ Carter explaining the reason why he hid a cure for cancer Specimen Z after Stewie and Brian discovered it. |
Carter Roosevelt Pewterschmidt is the main antagonist of Fox's Family Guy franchise.
He is the father of Lois Griffin, Carol and Patrick, as well as the archenemy/father-in-law of Peter Griffen who, despite not always being a villain, did heinous acts like hiding Specimen Z, cure for cancer and had never told anyone in public about it just because he will not make as much money in curing cancer as he does in treating it, making him responsible for millions of deaths.
He is voiced by series creator Seth MacFarlane, who also voices Peter Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, Adolf Hitler, Darth Stewie and his Fuzzy Wars counterpart in the same series, as well as Stan and Roger Smith in American Dad!.
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- After both Carter and his future wife, Babs met each other, he had punched her in the face after accidentally throwing a beach ball at him along with her friend, who was the one who threw it at him, later commending her for showing the right reaction.
- He is one of the main reasons why his son, Patrick Pewterschmidt, became an serial killer who strangled dozens of fat guys to death as he sent him to an insane asylum after catching Babs Pewterschmidt cheating on him with Jackie Gleason, that resulted him into going insane and he never showed any remorse for that.
- He was shown to be negligent and abusive towards his own daughter Lois in the past, even refusing to save her from a group of criminals out of his own self-centeredness. Thus, he is partially to blame for Lois' unstable personality.
- As a hobby, he pretends to adopt orphans, but then locks the door of his car where he put a dog and toys on purpose, so they can't get in and he can tease them, then drives away. He does this as a way to bond with Chris Griffin.
- He forced Peter to drink his own diabetic blood as entertainment.
- When he finally managed to have his scientists create Specimen Z, a cure for cancer, on which he uses to cure himself, he hid it from the world and never informed anyone in public about it for a long time just because of more money being made in treating disease than curing it. This shows how greedy and selfish he is, not to mention that he lied to his family (including Brian and Stewie) about telling it in public while faking remorse for what he did, making him partially responsible for millions of people's deaths. Although he did point out based on the heavy development expenses that the one bit they uncovered cost him a lot by itself.
- He cheated on his wife with another woman who is way younger and tried to hide the truth until Peter Griffin caught him.
- He raped his Spanish maid in front of Stewie while she said "no."
- It is implied that he molested Lois when she was younger.
- He played Russian Roulette with Meg when she was driving.
- He disguised himself as a poor radicalist and tricked Peter into disbanding the government by forming the Tea Party, knowing that the town would in result become chaotic so he could pollute it.
- After Peter shot Cleveland Brown Jr., he worked with Peter to incriminate the innocent boy as a thug in a court case.
- He puts pesticides in baby food.
- The chemical waste from his company gave an entire town cancer.
- He burned down the Amazon rainforest.
- He's the most frequent producer of whale meat.
- He dumped lead into the town's supply of drinking water.
- His oil pipeline forced 12 Native American tribes out of their homes.
- His fertilizer plant killed 4000 people after it exploded.
- He bought Vine and shut it down.
- He is seen stealing from Starbucks without paying.
- Despite the fact that Bertram had commited omnicide, Carter has less resources due to the fact how Bertram has sci-fi tools, which amount to high resources.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is still a satirical character that is meant to be laughable for the audience and has way too many comedic moments as Family Guy is a black comedy show. While his actions of cheating on his wife and keeping the cure for cancer secret are taken seriously, the majority of his actions aren't.
- He still has his on & off status as he is not always a villain and is occasionally neutral or heroic.
- He still upholds his care for his own family members and sometimes can be remorseful for how bad he treats them. For example, he is mostly affable towards his grandson Stewie, even being worried about his condition in the hospital and asked Peter if he was dying. He befriends Chris and seeks to name him his heir. He develops care for a girl named Tatum and tries to raise her right to make up for her treatment to Lois. He was attached to a maid who raised him and when he reacted to the thought of her getting cancer, he sounded extremely fearful and worried, signaling care for her.
