Inconsistently Heinous Wiki

The way they nicknamed me back in the orphanage... it's perfect! Yes! Captain Fray strikes again!
~ Feitoso after becoming the White Horse of Decay for the first time and choosing his new alias.

Feitoso Araújo, better known by his supervillain title of Captain Fray, is one of the main antagonists of the Monica's Gang franchise. He is the gang's most iconic villain, a dirt-powered man obssessed with filth who plans to pollute the entire world and dominate it.

In actuality, his true identity is that of Smudge's long lost uncle, who became a herald of the demonic entity known as The Serpent, who made him into its White Horse of Decay, with his main goal being that of polluting the entire world until not a single sunray can touch the ground. He is the archenemy of Smudge.

He was voiced by Marcio Araujo and Alex Minei in the cartoons.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

Classic[]

  • He consistently tries to pollute the city.
  • He always abuses his Sewer Creatures for their imcompetence, slothness, or sometimes with no good reason at all, other than to take out his anger on his minions.
  • He attempted to shoot Jimmy Five and Smudge out of the sky when they were in a balloon.
  • Multiple times he attempted to get Smudge over to his side, to take over the world alongside him.
    • He once turned Smudge into a mindless monster to help him destroy the city and pollute it, even having harm or possibly kill his friends, falling into his vision of Smudge "joining" him.
  • He created a titanic kaiju of a Trash Giant that trashed around the city, breaking down buildings and endangering people, until it was stopped and thrown in the lake.
  • He kidnapped Smudge's parents, his own brother and sister-in-law, and held them over a cauldron of terribly foul smells that made breathing itself harsh, torturing them to try to convince Smudge that he was a better parent for him.
  • After a security guard attempted to stop him from entering a store due to his "suspicious appearance", Fray froze him in a block of dirt.
  • He wanted to use his new Sewer Creatures, made from unknown previous humanoids, to take over the city, and ordered to have Jimmy Five and Smudge.
  • He created "Conica's Gang" to try and have them set a new example to children: to be looking for fights, polluting things and overall, being bullies and vandals.
  • He tried to have Maggy get rid of most of the world's water, and then enslave humanity by providing them with the little water they needed to survive.
  • In the crossover with the DC Universe, he captures Green Lantern and Wonder Woman, trapping them in dust handcuffs, stating that he intends to capture all the other Justice League heroes, as well.
  • He tricks Smudge into thinking he was kicked out of the sewer by his Sewer Creatures, pretending he was redeeming himself by working at MSP, only to reveal he had arrested the writers to take control of the stories, and when Smudge refused to continue on his side, he attacked him with his dirt rays.

Monica Teen[]

  • As Black Dust, he helped Yuka try to take over the world and defeat the gang.
  • It is revealed that the full extent of his pollution plots involves making it so it is impossible for light rays to touch the ground, making it impossible for humans to survive on Earth.
  • In the Inverse Tower, he mutilated several people in the Lazarus of Bethania hospital by turning them into gruesome human-bug hybrids that were in constant pain.
  • Attempted to get his master, the Serpent to come into the world and destroy it, completing the prophetized End of the World.
  • Infected the gang and city with a particular kind of dust that made everyone deadbaeat and depressed, wanting to spread it so the gang would no longer be a threat for him and his plots.
  • He manipulates Astro Boy's sister Uran into convincing her that he is his friend and uses her as fuel for a mecha he uses against the gang.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is too tragic to be Near Pure Evil, losing his family in a landslide at a young age, additionally traumatised when he was saved by a swarm of bugs sent by the Serpent who crawled over him and prevented him from starving. He was then brought in by the abusive House of Asclepius organization, where he was shunned and bullied constantly. When he managed to find happiness upon being adopted by Antenor's mother and becoming his loving brother, this was quickly taken away from him when the Serpent came to gets its debt paid by turning him into its new herald, the White Horse of Decay, and threatening to have Smudge take the curse instead if Feitoso refuses.
    • His fate of having to be Fray constantly, otherwise his nephew will be taken by the Serpent instead, also makes him a scapegoat.
  • He has moral agency issues and is a villain by proxy, as the Captain Fray persona is Feitoso while being forced by the Serpent to act as the White Horse of Decay, with him retaining his original moral compass whenever he is seen out of the Serpent's influence.
  • Even as a villain, he is shown to care to a multitude of people:
    • He cares for his Sewer Creatures, and even if often abusing them, he also treats them well occasionally, has fun hanging out with them and can be protective if they are in danger.
    • He loves his nephew Smudge, and rather than wanting to beat him alongside the rest of the gang, his main goal is to convert him as his pupil and have him join his side, showing that even as a villain Feitoso still cares and loves for him. He even saves him from Dr. McClean sometimes.
    • He cared for his short-lived Trash Giant, and was geniunely heartbroken upon seeing it die.
    • In Teen, he also started to care about Uran, mainly because she reminded him of Smudge, even telling Monica and Astro Boy how to save her.
  • He is shown to be honorable, not trying to attack the Gang after having his schemes foiled multiple times, rather resorting to simply flee in anger. When Smudge saved him in the DC Universe crossover in Teen, he was initially rude, but thanked his nephew with a handshake while calling him "nephew", leaving without trying any dirty tricks.

Trivia[]

  • So far, he is the only villain in Monica's Gang to be Inconsistently Heinous.
