What Makes Him inconsistent?[]
- He is very tragic as he was attacked by an obsessed fan before the apocalypse in his musician days and was forced to kill him. This took a heavy toll on him as he started drinking heavily and formed a close friendship with his AA sponsor. After he died and Beta kept his zombified corpse in hopes of a cure, Alpha killed his friend and further manipulated him into believing they were in the end times, making him who he is today.
- He had 2 strong friendships with Alpha and his AA sponsor, even having some romantic feelings for Alpha. These are never subverted in anyway as he wears their faces after their deaths and even tries to avenge Alpha by killing Negan.
- He has a light sense of honor in him as he avoids killing Daryl and tries to reason with him, only wanting Lydia and will leave him and the group alone if he gets her. He also honors Mary's deal and doesn't kill Rosita when she offers herself to him.
- He comforts a dying whisperer, holding him and tells him he will forever be one of them.
- He is completely insane due to the gaslighting and manipulation by Alpha and going crazy after her death. He starts to hear voices in his head giving him directions and starts to hallucinate a lot hallucinates. He even cries when he hallucinates a walker horde as his fans from his musician days.
- His death is played for sympathy as after getting his eyes stabbed out, he starts to reminisce about the time he had with Alpha and the whisperers as he is devoured by his "fans" and embraces them.
