Victory shall be mine!
~ Bertram's famous catchphrase and first words just seconds after his birth.

Bertram is a major antagonist in Fox's Family Guy franchise.

He was the son of a gym teacher and her partner through artificial insemination, though Bertram's biological father, through a sperm bank mishap fixing, is Peter Griffin. Bertram has appeared in "Emission Impossible", "Sibling Rivalry" and "The Big Bang Theory", serving as the main antagonist of all three episodes. He has also appeared in two video games based on the series. He is Stewie Griffin's half-brother and arch-nemesis.

He was voiced by Wallace Shawn.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • He tried to kill Stewie in all of his appearances, and while this was to prevent his own destruction, he still could have simply talked Stewie out of it instead of trying to murder him (he was more than capable of doing on many occasions).
  • In "Emission Impossible", he revealed that much like Stewie, he hated Lois and agreed to team up with Stewie to try to kill and antagonize her.
  • In "Sibling Rivalry", he declared war on Stewie after they argued over who ruled the playground, using Stewie's girlfriend to give Stewie chicken pox and getting in a fight with Stewie after Stewie recovered.
  • In "The Big Bang Theory", he learned that Stewie invented a time machine, he went back in time and killed Leonardo da Vinci, Stewie's ancestor, to prevent Stewie from being born, not knowing that Stewie was responsible for the Big Bang, meaning killing Da Vinci would kill everyone who had ever existed or would exist.
    • When Stewie and Brian went back in time and warn him that killing Da Vinci would cause the end of the world, Bertram killed Di Vinci anyway, therefore knowingly almost causing the end of the universe.
  • While he did become good friends with Stewie in his debut, he no longer cared for him by his death as seen in his last appearance "The Big Bang Theory", even willingly letting the universe die to spite Stewie.
  • While he may had been a bit hesitant about killing Stewie after the latter explained that killing him will destroy the universe, he subverted any standards he might have had.
  • He was far and away the most heinous villain in Family Guy, as his attempted omnicide far passed any other villains' crimes in the franchise.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Despite subverting all of his redeeming qualities as well as being taken slightly more seriously in Season 9, as with most Family Guy characters, he was frequently played for laughs, far too much to be PE or even NPE. This was because even during moments like him fighting Stewie on the playground in "Sibling Rivalry", there was still tons of comedy like getting interrupted by a cutaway gag and laughing with Stewie while going down the slide.
