~ Audrey II dueling with Seymour. |
Audrey II, or Twoey for short, is the main antagonist of the 1986 rock horror-comedy musical film Little Shop of Horrors, based on the 1982 off-Broadway musical of the same name.
It was voiced by the late Levi Stubbs.
Its Evil Ranking[]
What Makes It Heinous?[]
Both versions[]
- After gaining its first drops of blood, it tried to bite an innocent person's buttocks for her blood.
- While eating blood from Seymour's fingers, it left Seymour with cuts, scars and bandages from phlebotomy.
- It tried to offer Seymour fortune and fame to agree to kill people for it, sadistically stating that a lot of people deserved to die.
- It forced Seymour to kill Orin Scrivello, Audrey's abusive boyfriend, in an attempt to grow large after gaining the ability to talk.
- While Orin deserved this, Audrey II only did it because it wanted blood, to grow more in size, and not out of concern for Audrey's well-being.
- When Seymour chopping up Orin was exposed to Mr. Mushnik, it telepathically persuaded Seymour to feed Mushnik to it.
- It bullied and tormented Seymour about feeling guilty for the murders.
- When it learned that Seymour was going to give it a piece of meat for its final serving and that he was moving out of Skid Row with Audrey, it called the phone to lure Audrey into the shop, attempting to devour her.
- It planned to have itself asexually reproduced across the world and have all of mankind devoured.
- When Seymour tried to shoot it with bullets from a bee-bee gun in an attempt to kill it, it snatched the gun and tried to shoot Seymour to death.
- When it cornered Seymour at the door when Seymour tried to leave, it punched Seymour's testicles with one of its tentacles and sadistically laughed at Seymour's injury shock.
- It eventually destroyed the entire shop, supposedly killing Seymour in the process.
- It took advantage of Seymour's rivalries to grow to full size to become powerful enough to reproduce.
- While it seemed to be lacking in moral agency due to being an alien plant from the total eclipse of the sun, it did have a clear moral agency which was proven by how Seymour told it that killing people was wrong and he couldn't feed anymore people to it, but it was willing to try to enforce human and blood feeding despite being aware of this.
- It had no redeeming qualities as it only helped Seymour for pragmatic reasons so he could become large enough to reproduce and devour humans on its own and spread its offspring to destroy humanity.
Theatrical Version Exclusive[]
- It was heavily implied that the bolts it exploded into grew into baby Audrey II's to ensure a successor can carry out his evil plans even if he ultimately fails in doing so.
Director's Cut Exclusive[]
- It killed Audrey in front of Seymour, causing Seymour to attempt suicide.
- It ate Seymour alive, before having saplings of itself to be spread across the continent, resulting in lots of buildings being destroyed and people being devoured.
What Makes It Inconsistent?[]
- Despite having no redeeming qualities and him and his actions being portrayed as seriously threatening in-universe, it was far too comedic to be PE or NPE, with its crimes being played for black comedy and it being sassy as well as a complete ham for a machine due to Little Shop of Horrors being a lighthearted black comedy film. Examples of its comedic moments include:
- Its finish-off pose during Grow for Me.
- The scene where Seymour prevented it from licking a woman's buttocks.
- Its various songs such as Feed Me and Mean Green Mother from Outer Space which were played for humor and lightheartedness.
- Its lines when Seymour talked to him when grown to full-size such as "Tough titty!" and "Aw, cut the crap! Bring on the meat!".
- When Seymour found out its plan to destroy humanity and asked Audrey II if it's what it had in mind all along, it responded by saying "Nooooo shit, Sherlock!".
- When dueling Seymour in Mean Green Mother from Outer Space, it then proceeded to bust Seymour’s balls, cackling wickedly at his horrified expression.
- Its last words in the theatrical version when being electrocuted to death being "Oh shit!"
- Plus, even though it had moments where it's played seriously such as it killing Audrey and Seymour in the Director's Cut ending, those moments where it's played seriously were insufficient as most of its moments were portrayed in an upbeat, comedic and lighthearted tone.
