Anthony Trumper is the main antagonist of Aardman's 6th animated feature film Shaun the Sheep Movie.

He is an animal control officer who hates animals. After Shaun the Sheep escapes from the animal control center with Slip and Blitzer, Trumper seeks out to kill him and the flock that helped them escape.

He was voiced by Omid Djalili.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • He captures animals and imprisons them in cells and is shown to taunt and harass them on occasion as shown by his interaction with Shaun and Slip. Based on how a few of the animals have been shown to be afraid of him, it can be assumed that he doesn't treat them well.
  • When Shaun, Bitzer, and Slip escape with help from the flock, he attempts to kill them in a brutal way by tazing them to death.
  • When that fails, he attempts to kill them again by pushing them off into a quarry to their deaths in a cabin with a tractor.
  • When Shaun foils that attempt, he attempts to throw him into the quarry himself only for him to be saved by the Farmer.
  • He is shown to be aware of the sheeps' sapience with evidence of this including moments like when he is tricked by Shaun, Bitzer, and Slip into getting himself locked in a cell and realizes it, sees them operating a fake horse, and sees them go into a shack to hide from him out of fear.
  • While Piella Bakewell and Preston do worse, Anthony stands out due to trying to kill a child (i.e. Timmy, who is Shaun’s cousin), while Preston wasn’t confirmed to have targeted children and Piella only killed bakers, meaning child murder is a unique crime in the Wallace and Gromit franchise. Along with that, he bypasses Hwinous Standards to Agent Red, who had far more resources yet only tried to capture Lu-La.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is too comedic to be PE or NPE due to how many times he's been played for laughs, some of which revolves around his incompetence.
  • He has a very minor pet-the-dog moment when he hands a bag to the sheep, even though he thought it was a woman.
  • He is presumably unaware if the animals are sentient and is cruel to sheeps and locks them for false reasons.

Trivia[]

  • Anthony Trumper is, alongside Dr. Fry and The Toad, one of the three Aardman Animations characters to be Inconsistently Heinous.
  • Anthony Trumper is the only Shaun the Sheep character to be Inconsistently Heinous.
