General Anatoly Semyonovich Vinogradov, also known as Tolya, is the main antagonist of Metro Exodus: The Two Colonels.

He is a high-ranking general and the leader of OSKOM (Osobiy Komitet), who oversees the operations of the organisation and instils law and order within Novosibirsk station.

However, when the infamous Novosibirsk Riots broke out within the eponymous station, Vinogradov later took drastic measures to stop the Riots from happening, before deciding to turn on his trusted ally Slava Khlebnikov and his fellow OSKOM men, before committing suicide.

He was portrayed by Peter Jessop.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • When the situation inside Novosibirsk worsened, six months later, Vinogradov ordered the mass-confiscation and rationing of radioprotectors, even the ones that claimed it by legal means. Despite the success of his rather pragmatic plan, it unfortunately caused a violent civil war perpetrated by the station's poor (Dirty station) against OSKOM.
  • In the midst of the civil war, Vinogradov later perpetrated a mass murder of the rioters and even his OSKOM men within the station via several tanks full of chlorine gas (also later seen by Artyom and Miller in the main story, along with the hecatomb they found, which was caused by the gas), showing his true colours, before killing one of his dying men who was escaping from chlorine poisoning with a gun shot.
  • When he was betrayed by the High Command, Vinogradov ordered one of his men to destroy the escaping train with the High Command on it, which was later a success.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He's considered to be too tragic as NPE, as most of his motivations to kill the rioters and the men with a Chlorine gas inside Novosibirsk were mostly for pragmatic reasons, which was solely driven by the riots inside the station, whom he attempted to curb, which was later the direct cause of his son Seryoga's death.
  • He cares for Khlebnikov and his own OSKOM men, despite his later betrayal, where he willingly committed suicide in front of him, after he ordered one of them to destroy the High Command train, since the High Command betrayed him.

Trivia[]

  • Anatoly Vinogradov, along with Tom, is one of the two Metro characters who is Inconsistently Heinous.
