Hi, I'm Amanda!
~ Amanda introducing herself.
Oh no! Wooly had an accident! An 'accident' is when something bad happens, but it's not anybody's fault. Accidents can happen in your house, at school, at the playground... you can get hurt almost anywhere...
~ Amanda the Adventurer lying to Riley, saying Wooly had an "accident".
I'm out there. Somewhere.
~ Amanda revealing her secret to Riley before the TV starts violently glitching.
WON'T YOU HELP THE LONELY KITTEN?!
~ Amanda acting distressed about Riley refusing to help a stray kitten while the world around her is seemingly being corrupted.

Amanda the Adventurer, or simply Amanda, is the titular secondary antagonist of the Amanda the Adventurer franchise.

She is presented to be the protagonist of a children's program named after her, who is usually accompanied by her timid anthropomorphic sidekick, Wooly the Sheep. As the player gets further into the game, Amanda appears to be an eldritch horror that has control over the show, though parts of the game also seem to suggest that she may not be as in control as it seems, appearing to also have the conscience of her voice actress, and the daughter of the show's creator, Rebecca Colton.

The character was voiced by Chelsea Lecompte in the pilot, and is currently voiced by Blair Greene-Osako, while Rebecca herself was portrayed by Lucy Brown.

Her Evil Ranking[]

In General[]

  • Even though she is manipulated by the entity for its own warlike purposes, she proves to be someone who, despite being manipulated, is a psychopath and reveals this. This can be seen in many of the tapes.
  • She is someone with little patience and sometimes mistreats Wolly in her tapes and even in one of them she tried to cut Wolly with a pleasurable action. all this without the entity really controlling her.
  • Even in Amanda the Adventurer 2 you can see that even though she really doesn't want the entity to really kill someone, this sometimes tends to be the opposite and she really helps the entity with its goals no matter what or what consequences. A clear one is when she asks for a toy and if she doesn't do it, the entity would kill Riley.

What Makes Her Heinous?[]

  • She was an accessory to kidnapping many children watching the tapes and taking them to her world.
  • In the Butcher Ending, you turn into a meat piece at the meat store, which strongly implies that the other pieces of meat and all the objects in Amanda's world are kidnapped people who were given fates worse than death.
  • She physically and psychologically abuses Wooly when he tries to warn the protagonists, like beating him up then claiming he had an accident.
  • She has a breakdown where she's being forced to go the meat store and then destroys all buildings out of wrath. What makes it awful is that it might have been real people killed by her.
  • In the zoo, she causes Wooly to become a normal sheep instead of an anthropomorphic one.
  • If Riley refuses to help a stray kitten, she will have a breakdown, start a glitching transformation as the world around her starts being seemingly destroyed.
  • In the Surgery Ending, she tortures Wooly with surgical tools and attempts to kill him.
  • In the game's true ending, it is implied that Amanda had yet again killed Wooly, as he is nowhere in sight, and Amanda offers Riley a set of meats and brie cheese, all of which are typically made from sheep.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • The biggest reason why she can't be NPE is because she is far too sympathetic:
    • The full game reveals that Amanda was created as a result of the higher-ups of Hameln Entertainment making her voice actress, an orphaned child named Rebecca Colton, read out the name of several demons, resulting in her being possessed and controlled by one of them against her will.
      • To make Rebecca even more tragic, according to her adoptive father, Sam Colton, she lived a rough life prior to adoption considering that she lost both of her parents (with even some indications her mother was a cannibal) and was an orphan for several years until she was taken in by Sam so that the latter could provide her with a better life.
    • After being possessed by a demon, Rebecca herself is still in Amanda's character trying to resist the demon's grip over her, and she was never intended to become a murderous cartoon character in the first place.
    • In the "Everything Rots" tape, it shows that she has insecurities by asking Riley if everything does rot, and seconds before they are killed by her monster form, she expresses sadness by saying "I'm afraid it might be too late" and "That's what I was afraid of".
    • In the game's true ending, Amanda will offer to tell Riley, who Amanda has deemed a genuine friend of hers, her biggest secret. If Riley refuses to hear it, Amanda is notably disappointed, but unlike all other instances where she gets upset, she doesn't attack the player, but instead leaves a flashcard that reads "LEAVE!!!". This makes her even more insecure.
  • She is a gestalt entity who is made up of Rebecca's tortured soul and the demon that Hameln had summoned. This leads to numerous instances where the two personalities would heavily conflict with each other. One glaring example of this is when Amanda encounters a lonely kitten, and Riley refuses to help it. If they do this, Amanda will break down and malfunction.
  • She genuinely cares for the stray kitten that she and Wooly met, as she asks Riley if they will help the lonely kitten, and if Riley says no, Amanda sheds tears. This shows that she generally treats most animals with respects and likely has standards against animal cruelty (even if she is abusive towards Wooly, who is a sapient and anthropomorphic sheep).

Trivia[]

  • If it is confirmed that Rebecca and the Demon possessing her are separate entities controlling Amanda, it would possibly and likely make Rebecca not count as a villain, while making the Demon possessing her Pure Evil.
