There aren't any real heroes left. So... why not make our own? The world needs someone willing to fight for its people's justice. A hero to lead them. To unify them. A hero like me! And if I'm the hero, that makes YOU the villain!
~ Konoe delusionally stating to the Phantom Thieves that he views himself as a hero.

Akira Konoe is the secondary antagonist in Persona 5 Strikers. He is also the CEO of Madicce, a multi billion dollar IT company, who produced and released the popular app known as EMMA, which is shown to be able to brainwash people by removing their 'desires'. He plans to use EMMA's brainwashing powers to completely eradicate any traces of evil in the world.

He's voiced by Tōru Ōkawa in the original Japanese version, and by George Ackles in the English dub.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Blamed his patricide on some burglars that never even existed.
  • It is implied he drove Shuzo Ubukata to suicide. After Ubukata's death, he would go on to blame the Phantom Thieves for it.
  • Conspired with Jyun Owada, a corrupt politician and member of the Antisocial Force, the main villainous organization who was behind the events of the original Persona 5.
  • Brainwashed countless people using EMMA, including several people to work for Owada.
  • Made Alice Hiiragi, Ango Natsume, Mariko Hyodo and Akane Hasegawa into Monarchs, who he used as his puppets and also gave them the power to brainwash others.
  • Got Miyako Kiburagi to arrest the Phantom Thieves, to which Zenkichi took their place.
  • Tried to brainwash everyone to rid the world of evil.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Is a genuinely good boss, as he is seen treating his employees nicely.
  • His past is portrayed sympathetically, having had an incredibly abusive father, also giving him a strong and understandable freudian excuse.
  • He is a well-intentioned extremist and an anti-villain, genuinely wanting to make the world a better place by eliminating the evils of the world.
  • He willingly turned himself into the police after the Phantom Thieves confront his Shadow, showing his remorse over his acts.
  • He partially redeems himself after he attempts to delete EMMA.
